Pleasantville Police Department - IA The Pleasantville Police Department is committed to the safety and well-being of our citizens. Pleasantville is home to nearly 1,700 people.

There are 3 full-time Police Officers and 3 part-time Police Officers. The purpose of this page is to allow citizens easy access to our office in the event they have questions, comments, or concerns. In the event of an emergency, please call 911.

A tornado watch has been issued for our area. Again, this is another reminder that Memorial Hall will be open to those who wish to seek shelter there.

In the event of a tornado or strong winds, our sirens will sound and power outages may occur.

With that in mind, be sure to have your phones fully charged to stay up to date with the latest changing weather conditions and alerts.

Those affected have reported receiving text messages stating they owe traffic fines. If the fines are not paid, the text explains they will lose their drivers license. The text also provides a link to pay the fines.

🚨 BLIZZARD WARNING 🚨

We want to remind citizens that our area will be impacted by the forecasted blizzard.

We encourage everyone not to travel during this time unless absolutely necessary. If you have to travel, we recommend giving yourself plenty of time to reach your destination.

Make sure your cell phone is fully charged and that you have a full tank of fuel in your vehicle. Pack blankets and other items to keep you warm in the event you become stranded.

This is also a reminder of our snow ordinance. It will go into effect at 12:00pm and remain in effect until 12:00pm Monday.

We want to remind citizens of the potential for severe weather that could impact our area tonight. Due to this, Memorial Hall will be open for anyone wishing to take shelter there.

An Enhanced Risk (Level 3 of 5) has been expanded into southwest Iowa. Large hail and damaging wind gusts, and few tornadoes will be possible. Be sure you have multiple ways to receive any warnings that are issued, and stay tuned to forecast updates!
