🌳 Applications Now Open – Growing Tomorrow Tree Planting Cost-Share Initiative! 🌳

Are you considering planting a shelterbelt or windbreak on your property?

The Sheridan County Conservation District is now accepting applications for the 2027 Growing Tomorrow Tree Planting Cost-Share Initiative, a 50/50 cost-share program designed to help Sheridan County landowners establish trees that provide benefits for generations.

Eligible projects include:
🌾 Windbreaks
🌲 Shelterbelts
🦌 Wildlife habitat
🚜 Farmstead protection

Healthy tree plantings can:
✔ Reduce wind erosion
✔ Protect livestock and buildings
✔ Improve wildlife habitat
✔ Conserve soil and moisture
✔ Increase the long-term resilience of your operation

📅 Application deadline: September 30, 2026

Funding is limited, and applications will be ranked competitively.

This year we had 4 Herdsmanship award recipients for each barn. Herdsmanship is an award based around cleanliness, animal care, and sportsmanship and recognizes the top 4-H member that demonstrated all three!
