Did you know that more than half of car seats are installed incorrectly? Let Plum EMS help you make sure you child is riding as safely as possible!

On Saturday, September 19, Plum EMS will be hosting our 5th annual Car Seat Safety Clinic with the UPMC Children's Hospital Injury Prevention Van as a special guest.

Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will inspect your child's car seat to make sure:
✅ It’s the right seat for your child’s age, height, and weight
✅ It’s not expired or recalled
✅ It’s installed correctly
✅ Your child is properly secured

Car seat safety can be confusing - but you don't have to figure it out alone!

Registration is required. We hope to see you there!

A huge thank you to the Monroeville Public Library for inviting Plum EMS to be part of their Family Resource Fair!

We had an incredible time connecting with families and sharing the importance of car seat safety and safe sleep practices for infants.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share information that can help protect the community’s youngest members and, ultimately, save lives.

Thank you, Monroeville Public Library, for an incredible event!

What an incredible day with incredible people!

Plum EMS , together with an amazing group of instructors, had the privilege of providing CPR, AED, First Aid, and Medical Emergencies training to approximately 460 Plum Borough School District faculty, staff, and support personnel.

From early morning until the final session, instructors, EMS professionals, and school district employees came together with one shared goal: being better prepared to respond when someone needs help.

A training event of this size takes tremendous teamwork, preparation, and dedication. We are incredibly grateful to every instructor who volunteered their time and expertise, as well as the Plum Borough School District for making this important training a priority.

460 people trained. Countless potential lives impacted. One incredible team.

Thank you to everyone who made the day such a success. We are proud to be part of such an incredible community!

Plum EMS had a wonderful time visiting the Plum Community Library to participate in Storytime with some of our community's youngest learners! We enjoyed reading together, talking about what EMS professionals do, and helping children learn that ambulances and paramedics are friendly helpers they can count on when they need us.

Thank you to the Plum Community Library for inviting us to be part of such a fun and educational morning. Building relationships with children in our community helps make emergencies a little less scary and inspires confidence in calling for help when it's needed.

We look forward to seeing everyone again soon!

At Plum EMS we believe in thorough truck checks... and sometimes it takes the entire team to get the job done!

Today's youngest "quality assurance specialist", Archer, made sure every compartment was opened, every button was pushed, and absolutely nothing was overlooked.

We're pretty sure our one-year-old inspector earned a passing grade for enthusiasm! Thanks to our amazing team for making safety—and a little fun—a part of every day.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!!

EMS agencies are facing a growing financial crisis. Despite providing emergency, lifesaving care, some insurance companies send reimbursement payments directly to patients instead of the EMS provider. When those payments never reach the ambulance service, agencies are left to absorb the cost—threatening the sustainability of emergency medical services in our community.

$225,000 - that is what Plum EMS loss in just a few years due to insurance payments being sent to patients who never forwarded it to us.

Pennsylvania lawmakers have introduced legislation— House Bill 1152 and Senate Bill 1342—that would require commercial insurance companies to reimburse EMS providers directly with a statewide payment schedule. This legislation would help ensure EMS agencies receive payment for the care they provide while also protecting patients by eliminating the possibility of balance billing.

We are grateful for the support of Representative Cooper, the prime sponsor of the House Bill, along with Representative McAndrew, Representative Markosek, and the other 62 PA Representatives co-sponsoring it. Also, thank you to Senator Robinson, the prime sponsor of the Senate Bill, Senator Pisciottano, and the other 10 PA State Senators who have signed on as co-sponsors of this important legislation.

Please contact your State Representative and State Senator and encourage them to support HB 1152 and SB 1342. Strong EMS systems save lives, and your voice can help ensure ambulance services remain available when our communities need them most.

“This is unprecedented. We haven’t had any that reached that level,” said Steve Kline of Ross/West View EMS and Rescue.
