Arch Ford Education Service Cooperative

Arch Ford Education Service Cooperative We support educators and students in 26 districts in Central Arkansas. Service is our middle name!

Arch Ford Education Service Cooperative was established at UCA in 1984 along with 14 other Education Service Cooperatives in Arkansas (also known as ESC's). In 1988, we relocated to the former Plumerville School District building located in Plumerville, AR. We serve seven counties including Cleburne, Conway, Faulkner, Pope, Perry, Van Buren, and Yell Counties. Located within these seven counties,

we serve 26 school districts (in 1985, there were 35 districts), 97 school buildings, about 4500 teachers and administrators and over 50,000 students. Our governing board is comprised of the serving school districts superintendents. We are one of the largest education cooperatives in the state of Arkansas and have a staff of approximately 350 full time employees.

Our principals were hard at work today on Day 2 of Camp Arch Ford. They triangulated data, created PD action plans, revised their instructional models and walkthrough tools, and learned from Arch Ford specialists about what highly effective teaching looks like in ELA, Science, and Math.

These leaders are digging in and planning for next year. They have one more full day of learning tomorrow! 🏕️

Arch Ford and Center Valley Elementary in Russellville recently collaborated to offer a unique opportunity for elementary school leaders in the region. The focus was on building and sustaining behavioral systems. Megan Strain (principal) and Courtney Gunter (counselor) led participants through a journey to maximize the school's behavior team and build tier-one behavior instruction and support as THE solid foundation of their school's culture and climate. By strengthening tier one expectations, universal language, brain-aligned approaches for adults and students, and universal supports at this crucial tier, they can focus intently on more specific plans for students requiring tier two and tier three supports. The staff at CVE have undergone highly focused professional learning on trauma, trauma-informed practices, regulation and co-regulation, and executive functioning. Becoming a brain-aligned school is an ongoing work in progress, and we are grateful to CVE staff and students for opening their campus to others in the region!
