Please see the attached notice from the Town of Plymouth, MA regarding road construction on Samoset Street. Please seek alternate routes if possible.

Community members are advised that Samoset Street will be closed to westbound traffic from Standish Avenue to Westerly Road from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, Aug. 18, and Wednesday, Aug. 19, to allow for contractors to perform tree clearing at the site of the West Plymouth Booster Station.

During the closure of Samoset Street, westbound traffic will turn right onto Standish Avenue from Samoset Street, continue west onto Alden Street, and travel south down Westerly Road.

Eastbound traffic on Samoset Street will not be impacted.

🔔 PRESS RELEASE 🔔

Today, the Plymouth Police Department held a graduation ceremony for our third annual Youth Police Academy. Each year, our School Resource Officers host Plymouth students exposing them to the law enforcement profession. They learn about the law, health and wellness, defensive tactics, leadership, drill and ceremony, and many more life skills they can carry with them.

We commend our School Resource Officers for creating a great atmosphere to teach and learn. Thank you, Officers Scharath, Ireland, Wetterberg, Berger, and Ford for your dedication. Thank you to LT. Croak for instilling honor and discipline through intense drill and ceremony instruction.

Most of all, thank you to the Cadets of Student Officer Class 01-26, “Spartans”, for your willingness to step out of your comfort zone, your attention to detail, and taking a big step forward toward being a leader amongst your peers. Always remember to defend the defenseless and treat everyone with respect and dignity. We hope to see some of you wearing a Plymouth Police Patch in the future!
