How do you "Unearth a Story", the summer reading theme? Well you invite an expert to bring animal skins, skeletons, and give descriptions of these Nebraska natives that essentially live underground. That's exactly what former TC Trojan and current Assistant Administrator at Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, TRAVIS SHEPLER did on Saturday morning in the Plymouth Community Center. A nice crowd of youngsters and adults enjoyed the opportunity to hear about, ask questions, and touch these Nebraska creatures. Travis also talked about his job and the fact that more and more ladies are taking up this fascinating profession. Wow, talk about an education! Travis also read a fascinating book about hibernating bears. Treats, drawings for prizes, and a few more questions for Travis brought the program to a close. Thanks Travis for coming back home and sharing. The kids loved it! Travis's son Reid was also a wonderful helper! The next program will be in the Community Center on Friday June 19 @ 10:00 am. Nebraska State Archeologist Dave Williams will provide a program on the artifacts found in the state. A presentation for ALL ages! Hope you can make it! Sponsored by the Plymouth Library.

On a rainy Friday, 31 Plymouth youngsters gathered in the community center for stories, poster painting, and fun. Former Tri County HS Counselor, current grandmother Betsy Spilker + her Tri County Teammate and recently graduated student Sydney Brauer facilitated an hour of stories about dragons and dinosaurs followed by poster painting. The result was a colorful poster created by Sydney painted by the kids, which tied in nicely to the books Betsy read to them. The program sponsored by the Plymouth Library was the first of several scheduled summer reading programs. Treats and drawings for prizes were enjoyed before closing the doors on a fun filled session. The next program will be held in the Plymouth community center next Friday June 5 at 10:00 am. Game Warden and former TC Trojan Travis Shepler will bring books and items related to animals living Underground . Join us!
