I knew Chris Matthews.

He worked hard for the causes he believed in; he was a good person, and the world was better for having him in it.

He will be missed.

Yesterday, our office suffered an unimaginable loss. Chris Matthews, my District Outreach and Communications Director, passed away unexpectedly.

If any one of you begin to lose faith in our country, remember Chris Matthews.

Remember he was without question one of the Commonwealth’s sharpest political minds – a generational talent.

Remember that he was more than a Congressional aide. He took the belief that through our actions we all can bring needed change and brought it with him on many interstate bus rides to canvas distant pivotal states and to the doors of the families he inspired.

Remember through his example that public service is a genuinely noble vocation. As a trusted member of our office, he helped countless veterans, families, and those who could not advocate for themselves.

Those of us privileged to have worked with him for over fifteen years will remember his laugh and his wry, often biting, humor – contrasting the way things are to the way they could be.

We will always remember his authentic belief that in this country, people can bring about progress and meaningful change. It was real to him and his sincerity shown through.

Chris was a genuinely good person. He was family to all of us, and we are devastated by his loss, particularly at such a young age.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Molly and Eli and the many who loved him. Though we wish we had more time with him, his memory will continue to give us faith that one person can significantly make better the lives of those around him.

Plymouth's Select Board is meeting tonight. We will be starting Open Session at approximately 6:00 PM.

Tonight the Board will be reviewing the achievements of the Town of Plymouth for FY26, hearing a presentation on the Town’s finances, and discussing the Town’s strategy towards achieving the 10% Subsidized Housing Inventory figure that protects the Town from hostile 40B developments, among other items on our agenda.

Plymouth's Select Board is meeting tonight. We will be in Executive Session starting at 5:00 PM and expect to go back into Open Session at 6:00 PM.

Tonight, the Board will be reviewing applications and interviewing candidates for an opening on the Board of Registrars, receiving an update on the Town-Wide Guide to Permitting, and discussing the Chapter 61 review process, among other items on our agenda.

Plymouth's Select Board is meeting tonight. We will be in Executive Session starting at 5:00 PM and expect to go back into Open Session at 6:00 PM.

Tonight, the Board will be hearing presentations on and setting user fees and rates for Town water customers, Town sewer customers, Town solid waste customers, various Town Clerk services, applications to the Historic District Commission, and potential users of the 1820 courtroom, among other items on our agenda.

I want to thank everyone who helped with my recent successful campaign to be re-elected to the Select Board.

Whether you worked on my campaign committee, hosted a meet & greet, held a sign, helped hand-write postcards, donated to the campaign, or simply talked to your neighbors about me, I really appreciate the help and support of so many people in making this victory a reality.

And I want to thank the voters of Plymouth for their support. Serving as a Select Board member has been an honor and a privilege, and I cannot fully express how much I appreciate the opportunity to continue to do this job that I love.

I look forward to working with all of my colleagues on the Board to help move Plymouth forward.

Lastly, we have made a lot of progress in picking up our campaign signs in the past two days, but we intend to pick up any remaining signs in the days ahead. Please let us know if you have a sign we haven't picked up yet!

Today is the last day for Early In-Person Voting at Town Hall! If you want to participate in Early In-Person Voting, you can vote in the 1st Floor Glass Atrium at Town Hall during the following times:

Plymouth's Select Board is meeting tonight. We will be in Executive Session starting at 4:30 PM and expect to go back into Open Session at 6:00 PM.

Tonight, the Board will be hearing presentations from the Director of the Department of Energy and Environment about a potential future Town Meeting article related to the Mann Property along the Agawam River and the status of the former Full Sail Property, among other items on our agenda.
