Plymouth-Canton Community Schools operates 15 elementary schools, five middle schools, three high schools and an alternative high school program. District maps show the geographic attendance areas for each elementary and middle school. To additionally support our community, the district provides extensive preschool programming as well as before-school and after-school child care and summer care pr

ograms for elementary and middle school students. Over 3,000 full-time and part-time employees work to provide our students with the educational opportunities they need to become productive citizens in a global community. Parent involvement is a key factor in the success of our students and our schools. District policy 2112 summarizes the importance of two-way communication between home and school and describes the responsibilities of the school and the parents in this process. The district plan titled “Parent Involvement in the School Program” will be printed each year in the August edition of Newsline. All P-CCS elementary teachers meet the federal requirements for highly qualified teachers. Parents have a right to know the qualifications of the teachers of their children and may contact their school to get this information.

Talk about the ULTIMATE Band Camp surprise! 🚒💦

After a long, hard week of rehearsals, the Canton Fire Department showed up to cool off our hardworking kids in the best way possible!

Huge shout-out and thank you to Deputy Chief Jaime Strassner and Nick Lombardi for making it rain on the band, and to our wonderful community and neighbors for your grace with all the cheers, shrieks, and excitement echoing through the neighborhood!

This was easily the most fun we’ve had in a long time. Thank you, Canton FD, for supporting our students and making this week unforgettable! 🙌✨

Amy Willacker-Brown has been named Principal of Salem High School, bringing more than two decades of experience in public education and a deep commitment to students, staff, families, and the Plymouth-Canton community.

Amy has served Plymouth-Canton Community Schools since 2003, most recently as an Assistant Principal at Plymouth High School. In that role, she has provided instructional leadership, supported student academic progress and wellbeing, guided staff development, and helped lead complex school systems at the Park. Through that work, she has built partnerships with students, families, educators, and community stakeholders. Her experience also includes teaching in the International Baccalaureate program, co-teaching middle school orchestra, coordinating K-12 visual and performing arts curriculum, and teaching elementary general music.

Amy earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from EMU and a Masters in teaching and Learning from Oakland University.

🎉 We’re Ready to Welcome You Back, P-CCS!

All of us at Plymouth-Canton Community Schools are excited to welcome students, families and staff back for the start of the 2026–27 school year on Monday, August 31! 📚🍎

We’ve been busy all summer preparing for another great year. Our new teachers kicked things off with a three-day orientation, including a bus tour of the district to get to know the communities and schools they’ll be serving.

This Wednesday, we officially kicked off the new school year with our annual Staff Welcome Back event! Thanks to the incredible generosity of our Community Partners, staff enjoyed food and beverage trucks, new staff shirts and plenty of time to connect and celebrate.

We were also inspired by Dr. Adolph Brown, who delivered a fun, educational and motivating message to help launch the year on a high note.

We’re ready. We’re excited. And we’re ALL IN for P-CCS! 💙
