Everyone here at Voices gives a heartfelt thank you to the Hebron Women's Group for their donation to our emergency shelter. These items go to survivors who have left dangerous situations and come to us to start a different, and safer, chapter in their lives. Donations like these give survivors one less thing to worry about, so they can focus on keeping themselves and their families safe, both physically and emotionally.

Every donation, no matter the size, keeps our clients fed, brings survivors peace, and helps Voices continue to provide our services to Grafton County.

Thank you, Hebron Women's Group, for your contribution to our mission, breaking the cycle of violence and creating social change!

Domestic violence, or Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) can happen to anyone. 1 in 3 women have experienced IPV in their lives, and studies have shown that instead of the rate of men experiencing IPV being 1 in 10, it's now 1 in 4. Though these stats are staggering, these events are still widely underreported.

Psychological effects of IPV vary in the short-term and long-term of someone's life. Short-term effects tend to show for a few months to a year, whereas long-term effects are more often seen many years after the event.

If you or someone you know has experienced IPV, contact Voices at 603-536-5999 or their 24-hour crisis line at 877-221-6176.

Behind every new beginning is a community that chooses to show up with kindness. Your support can help create a space where healing feels possible, where people can rest, rebuild, and rediscover their sense of stability. Even the smallest contribution can carry incredible meaning for someone starting over.

Anything from a slight change in routine to witnessing/experiencing abuse can have negative effects on a child’s mental health. No matter their age, children understand and internalize negative energies and events around them. These can affect children throughout their lives.
Don’t be afraid, hope is not lost! Children are resilient!
Creating a supportive environment and allowing a safe space for your child to express their feelings can greatly decrease the trauma responses a child has to external stimuli and helps form positive coping strategies they take with them as they grow.
