Little Creek Alpacas, established in 2008, is a chemical free farm that raises alpacas sustainably and ethically. Little Creek Alpacas was born out of a great love for animals, and the desire to become more self sufficient and raise our children in a more spiritual setting. We chose alpacas over other livestock because they are docile, earth friendly, and produce a wonderul, luxurious fiber that i

s better than cashmere. Alpaca fiber is not only soft, durable, and warm; it is also moisture wicking, flame retardant, water resistant, and stain resistant.

Bun Bun wanted to say hi. I've still been busy with Incognito. Frijol Picante is hoping his little buddy will be running around soon. Hopefully today will be the big day that Incognito goes to pasture!

Joe Dirt is loving his new life with the little boys. He knew he was too manly to be in with the weanlings, and he's looking forward to being a future stud.

Incognito takes his first steps out of the barn. I've never had a cria terrified of the great outdoors, I guess there's a first time for everything. 😆 Maybe tomorrow he'll run in the sunshine with his friend, Frijol Picante.

Joe Dirt moves to the little boys/geldings side and meets Billy Jean. They will move to the stud side when they're big enough, which will probably be next year or the year after, unless they are sold before then.

When the little ones keep me up all night, I can always count on Sullivan Taylor Uptown for a "latte" love. Frijol Picante says if you've never been there, you should check it out!

Frijol Picante wanted to say hi and let you all know he's doing great and enjoying life. We're thinking of having a pop-up Kid's Day, where you can pack a lunch for an alpaca picnic, make a craft, feed the alpacas, and play on Sunny Beach and in the pond. The farm could use a little extra cash, so we would have to charge $10/per kid but the parents would be free. I wouldn't have the farm store set-up because that would require paying help to run the stand while I do the activities with everyone. I was thinking of something like 11am-2pm, and maybe on a Wednesday. You would sign up ahead of time through email and pay the day of. What do you guys think? Please comment with thoughts, opinions, suggestions, and/or whether or not this is a good day and/or time.

Thank you, to all of you who came out to our Alpaca Beach Party yesterday. We really appreciate your support! We had beautiful weather, and it filled my heart with joy to see so many smiling faces. Make sure to mark your calendars for the next Alpaca Beach Party - Celebrate Summer on Sun., June 28th from 1pm-5pm.

Incognito was having a difficult time yesterday. He took a bottle earlier in the day, but then couldn't seem to remember how to suckle, so I had to syringe his colostrum in because he decided he didn't like the feeding tube and made it impossible for me to go that route. The first 24 hours of an alpaca's life are critical to their survival. If they don't get enough colostrum during the first 24 hours, they can pass away from failure to thrive. That's why I stayed up all night last night and the night before, because every 2-3 hours I had to feed him so he would get as much in him as possible for a better immune system throughout his life. He finally started to suckle again last night during his feeding after the beach party and has been taking a bottle since, which is a huge relief for me. I was so stressed out yesterday, trying to make sure the little guy would get enough in him to survive and thrive. I'm happy to say, I'm pretty sure he's going to make it. I really love my entire herd, and I try to do my best to give them the best care possible. I appreciate having an awesome vet like Dr. Maggie from the Hamilton Vet Clinic, she's a real gem to have in our community.
