The annual Thanksgiving Day Pilgrim Progress will take place at 10 am on Thursday, November 27. This reenactment of the Pilgrims’ Sabbath procession begins at the Mayflower Society House.
Costumed participants representing the 51 survivors of that first harsh winter of 1621 will assemble to the beat of drum. The Pilgrim Progress will proceed past Plymouth Rock, up Leyden Street to the top of Burial Hill. A short Pilgrim worship service will be observed at the site of the original fort/meetinghouse where the Pilgrims met for worship.
After a brief worship service, the procession will continue down Burial Hill, through town on Main Street, ending at the Mayflower Society via North Street.
The Pilgrim Progress has been a Town of Plymouth event since 1921 during the 300 year anniversary of the Landing of the Pilgrims.
“Friends of Pilgrim Progress” would like to thank its sponsors: Plymouth Rock Foundation and the General Society of Mayflower Descendants. The Pilgrim Progress is also sponsored in part by the Town of Plymouth Promotions Fund.
