On Saturday night, State Rep. Kathy LaNatra and I attend the Plymouth Center for the Arts Garden Party. It was a beautiful night celebrating the arts, our vibrant creative community, and the center's stunning new sculpture garden.

The arts enrich our community in so many ways, and this new space is a an absolutly amazing addition for Plymouth. If you haven't had a chance to visit the sculpture garden yet, be sure to stop by and check it out! 🎨🌿

🚨 The new episode of our podcast has dropped!

In this episode of Legislative Lens: People and Policy, we sits down with Theresa Harmon, Founder and Executive Director of To the Moon and Back, to discuss the impact of prenatal opioid exposure on children and families across Massachusetts.

We also talk about the common misconceptions, the challenges families face, and the importance of early intervention services. The conversation also highlights H.5296, legislation filed by State Rep. Kathy LaNatra and I to expand access to early supports for children with prenatal opioid exposure.

A powerful discussion on how early investment, compassion, and strong community partnerships can improve outcomes for children.

Thank you to Local Seen for all of your help getting this podcast together!

Last Wednesday, I had the opportunity to meet with members of the Massachusetts Airport Management Association at the State House.

The conversation provided a valuable opportunity to share some of the concerns I regularly hear from Plymouth residents who live near the Plymouth Airport, while also learning more about the efforts and innovations underway to improve the experience of living near an airport.

We discussed topics ranging from airport operations and community impacts to ways the Plymouth airport is working to be a better neighbors. We also talked about the value of creating opportunities for direct community conversations, where residents can ask questions, share concerns, and learn more about airport operations firsthand.

I appreciated the opportunity to have an open and productive dialogue and look forward to continuing these conversations to ensure the voices of Plymouth residents are heard.

Wednesday was a busy day at the State House with session and a full slate of events—and we were fortunate to have Annabelle and Adam, two of our incredible interns, helping ensure we didn’t miss a thing.

Adam attended the Alzheimer’s Association of Massachusetts and New Hampshire briefing in recognition of Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month. The briefing highlighted that more than 7 million Americans, and approximately 135,000 people aged 65 and older in Massachusetts are living with Alzheimer’s disease. Advocates also discussed legislation allowing spouses to be compensated for providing care, recognizing that more than 12 million people serve as caregivers—often making the difficult choice to leave their jobs in order to care for loved ones.

Annabelle attended a press conference on the front steps of the State House focused on healthcare worker violence, an issue of critical importance given that a healthcare worker experiences workplace violence every 36 minutes.

Both Annabelle and Adam also attended the Community Health Center Fair, where they connected with and learned more about the important work of Harbor Community Health Center and the services it provides to Plymouth residents and communities across the region.

We are incredibly grateful for the energy, curiosity, and support our interns bring to the office. With just two of us on staff, it would be impossible to cover the many important meetings and events happening each day at the State House without them plus they are an amazing part of the team!

Happy Father's Day to all the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, bonus dads, father figures, and mentors who make a difference every day! 💙

For many, today is a day of celebration and gratitude. For others, it may be complicated—a reminder of loss, absence, difficult relationships, or someone who is no longer here. Whatever Father's Day means to you, know that your experience is valid.

A special shoutout to my dad, Wayne, for all of his love, support, and willingness to help with just about anything I ask—provided it's warm outside and doesn't involve standing in the cold for too long (he will do it but he will certainly complain...haha)! 😊 Thank you for the countless lessons, your steady encouragement, and for always being willing to lend a hand when needed. I'm grateful for everything you do!

As we recognize Father's Day, let's also celebrate the people who step into fatherly roles, offer support when it's needed most, and help guide the next generation with kindness and care.

Wishing everyone a day of peace, reflection, and connection in whatever way feels right for you.

Happy Father's Day to all the amazing dads out there! 👔🎣🏖️

On Thursday, Shea, Francois, and I had the opportunity to join The Arc of Plymouth and Upper Cape Cod for their Kickoff to Summer celebration—and what a great afternoon it was! ☀️

From learning how to play pickleball, to enjoying a cookout, games, music, and plenty of laughs, there was something for everyone. The best part was catching up with members and hearing about all the exciting things they have been doing since our last visit.

In fact, we were having so much fun talking and enjoying the festivities that we completely forgot to take pictures! 📸😅

Luckily, we did manage to sneak in these two photos at the mirror photo booth before the day was over.

A huge thank you to The Arc for all they do to create opportunities for connection, and community. We always love visiting and spending time with your amazing members!
