A couple of months ago, I received a book from the Center for American Women and Politics along with a letter encouraging elected officials to read to local classrooms and talk about the importance of voting, civic engagement, and how everyone can make a difference in their community.

We reached out to Plymouth Public Schools and learned that the first graders at West Elementary School were studying this very topic. State Rep. Kathy LaNatra and I were thrilled to visit and read to the students just before Plymouth's local elections.

The students asked thoughtful questions about voting, state government, and public service, and it was inspiring to see their curiosity and enthusiasm. Thank you to the first-grade students, teachers, and paraprofessionals at West Elementary for welcoming us into your classrooms!!

It was a wonderful morning spent with our future civic leaders!

June is Pride Month — a time to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, recognize the progress that has been made, and recommit ourselves to the work that still lies ahead.

Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, valued, and able to live as their authentic selves. Pride is not only a celebration of identity and love, but also a reminder of the importance of diversity, equality, inclusion, belonging, and standing up against discrimination in all its forms.

This month, and every month, I am proud to support and advocate for policies that ensure all individuals are treated with dignity and respect.

On Thursday, I was honored to be welcomed as a new member of the Sunrise Rotary Club of Plymouth! 🌅🤝

I am excited to join such a dedicated group of community leaders and volunteers who are committed to making a difference in Plymouth. I look forward to working alongside my fellow Rotarians to give back, support important causes, and continue strengthening our community.

🚧 Traffic Alert: Route 3 Road Work in Plymouth 🚧

MassDOT will be performing road work on Route 3 northbound and southbound in Plymouth on Sunday, June 1, and Monday, June 2, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. each night. Work is expected to be completed by the morning of Tuesday, June 3.

Please be aware that intermittent ramp closures and detours will be in place during construction.

🔹 Kingston Collection Way to Route 3 Southbound:
• Take the ramp to Route 3 North
• Take Exit 18 for Route 3A West
• Turn left onto Route 3 South

🔹 Route 44 Eastbound Ramp to Route 3 Northbound:
• Bear right onto Route 3 Southbound
• Take Exit 15A to Samoset Street
• Turn right onto Samoset Street
• Take the ramp to Route 3 Northbound

Allow extra travel time, and use caution when traveling through the work zone. 🚗👷

On Thursday, I had the opportunity to attend the Plymouth Center for Active Living - COA Memorial Day Ceremony. 🇺🇸

It was another beautiful and meaningful event, featuring a moving reading of In Flanders Fields, Reading of those lost this year, and patriotic songs performed by Lily and Billy. 🎶❤️🤍💙

Memorial Day is a time to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Ceremonies like this serve as an important reminder that freedom is not free and that we must never take for granted the sacrifices made by some to uphold those freedoms and our democracy.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this special ceremony possible.
