Hay fire update:

Some of the hay has been spread out to help it burn. You may see smoke a little further to the south than previous days.

Update on the hay fire:
The hay stack fire on 20000 North will be burning for the next few days/week. We have department members monitoring it frequently, as well as the land owners.

If you notice it threatening structures, lighting the other big haystack on fire, or lighting other fields (that it is not currently in), call dispatch.

Outside of that, it will just be a waiting game. We appreciate everyone looking out for the community and those who have assisted.

Last night , Plymouth Fire Department responded to a haystack fire. We had assistance from many agencies surrounding us, Portage, Fielding, Corrine, Box Elder County Sheriff Department, and many of our Plymouth residents.
We want to thank everyone that helped out!
We want to share our deepest condolences to the owners for the loss of their property.
Cause of fire is still under investigation.

STAGE 1 FIRE & FIREWORK RESTRICTION NOTICE 🔥
Due to current weather conditions and the heightened risk of wildland fires across Box Elder County, Utah, the State Division of Forestry Fire & State Lands, in cooperation with Box Elder County Fire Marshal's Office, will be implementing stage 1 fire restrictions starting from July 20, 2023. These restrictions will be applicable to all unincorporated areas of Box Elder County.

🚫 NO Fireworks
🚫 NO Primitive fires.
🚫 NO Open burning.
🚫 NO Welding/Grinding without a permit.

🏕️ Campfires in APPROVED fire pits, permanent dwellings, improved campgrounds, or day-use areas are permitted, following these guidelines:
✅ 25’ from combustible materials.
✅ NO larger than 3’ wide 2’ high.
✅ ALWAYS attended by an adult.
✅ A means to extinguish the fire.
✅ COMPLETELY extinguished when done!

⚠️ Conditions can vary significantly throughout Box Elder County, so it is crucial for everyone to exercise caution and practice good .

Regarding fireworks in Plymouth:

The town has chosen to follow county ordinances regarding fireworks. This means they will be allowed July 2nd and 3rd from 11am to 11pm.

However, due to the rodeo and safety of the livestock, fireworks will still be banned on July 4th and 5th all day long.
