Tonight Percy Jackson Book Club mastered the Shashibo cubes!

If your kids want to give these figet-like, shape shifting puzzles a try, we’ll be playing with them this Saturday morning from 10:30 - 12:30 and next Wednesday from 3:00 - 5:00. We’ll also be playing with Hypertiles (super cool hyperbolic building toys) on those dates too! No registration required. Just stop in and play!

Artist Ari Lake joined us at the library last night to lead a Watercolor Bookmark Workshop & our patrons came ready to create! Talk about a talented group. So very many amazing bookmarks were made. Well done everyone! Thank you, Ari, for the instruction and guidance!

Thank you to our friends Fiona and Erin from Crailo State Historic Site for coming out this afternoon to play Colonial games with us! It was a perfect day for Hoop and Stick, Game of Graces, Hopscotch, and Nine Pin on the library lawn. We also played Jacob’s Ladder, Nine Men’s Morris, and the Game of Goose. Such a fun (and educational) program!

A final reminder about tomorrow’s Play program presented by Crailo State Historic Site. Registration is required, please make sure to give us a call at 518-283-3721 to save your seat!

Come play with us! Next Wednesday, 8/12 at 2:00, Fiona from Crailo State Historic Site will be joining us to lead children in a hands on exploration of Colonial games & play!

If it’s a nice day, we’ll play a combination of indoor and outdoor games, but if the weather is rainy we’ll focus on tabletop games inside. Either way its going to be a blast! Fiona and the staff at Crailo do an amazing job putting these fun & educational programs together.

Space and supplies are limited so registration is required for this program. Please call the library at 518-283-3721 to register.

Our Watercolor Bookmark Workshop with Ari Lake, that was postponed last month due to the storms, has been rescheduled for this Wednesday at 5:30. We were originally filled to capacity, but some folks can’t make this rescheduled date. That means, there are now seats available if you’d like to join the fun! Give us a call at 518-283-3721 to let us know you’ll be coming!

This program is open to teens ans adults. During the program participants will create 2 – 3 of their own beautiful, watercolor bookmarks with guided instruction.

All supplies provided however seating and supplies are limited so registration is required for this program.

It’s a beautiful morning! Come out and play with us. We have balls, bubbles, roaring dino stepping stones and more! The program is best suited to toddlers and preschool aged children but all are welcome.

No registration required. Don’t forget the sunscreen!

The babies are getting big! We have 10 monarch butterfly larva varying in age from about 5 - 10 days old. Sine the larva stage usually lasts between 11 & 18 days that means sometime in the coming week we’ll likely have our first chrysalis of the year!

It was another great night at LEGO Club on Wednesday. We love seeing all the fun builds each month! Great job, everyone!

Have you ever seen a Hummingbird Moth? They are right up there, along with Luna moths, on our list of favorite moths… Yes, we have a list if favorite moths. Doesn’t everyone? Anyway, we digress.

There has been a hummingbird month zipping around our garden this week & tonight we were able to catch this video of our visitor. Isn’t is just the neatest little critter? Take a minute to enjoy the flowers and see what other cool wildlife you can see out there the next time you visit. There are so many amazing polinators and tiny friends to discover in the garden.
