The Point Lookout Fire Department had their 3rd training of the semester tonight! We loved to see even more new people show interest and join the department! After becoming more familiar with their gear and getting started on using the air packs, new and old members went to various buildings on campus to familiarize everyone with where the fire panels are located. We were so thankful for such a good turnout tonight and are looking forward to a great semester together!

Tonight was the Point Lookout Fire Department's first training of the semester! New recruits were welcomed and got to meet all the members on the department. After an introduction of what we do, the new recruits were given a little taste of PLFD as they learned nozzle and hose techniques and how to manage the hose. We are looking forward to a great semester with the new additions to our family at PLFD!

Tonight was bittersweet for the Point Lookout Fire Department. Instead of training for the last time of the semester, we held a meeting to reflect back on the semester, honor those leaving, and congratulate those who received a promotion. We want to send well wishes to support team members: Madison Watts, Kyla Williams, and Ashley Mattingly, as well as Firefighters: Jarrett Calton, Lieutenant Joe Crum, Dalton Basnett, and Chief Nathan Bailey. The PLFD would also like to congratulate our new officer crew: Chief Micah Moseley, Captain Sophia Syrigos, Captain Kyle Atkisson, and Lieutenant Jesse Monhollon. While we hate to say goodbye to our department family, it is a privilege to see where the future takes these great leaders each time. Congratulations on a great semester to our Fire Department, and we are praying for a strong and safe start to the Spring semester. God Bless and Merry Christmas!👨‍🚒🚒👩‍🚒🧯🎄

It's the Chief's BIRTHDAY!! The Point Lookout Fire Department is blessed with such a selfless and hardworking leader. Not only does our chief give up hours of extra time outside of training to continue working with our crew when they want additional help, but he also shows our department what it means to be truly humble and encouraging. Whether you're a firefighter or a support team member, Nathan shows immense respect to each and every one and serves us with a servant's heart. We sure will miss him around here when he graduates in December. Make sure to send birthday wishes his way! 👨‍🚒 Happy Birthday, Nathan!

October 4th-11th is National Fire Prevention Week. This week our department worked on how to unroll hose and the different ways to roll it. Also this week, we filled air tanks and the air packs made an appearance as we learned how to put on the masks, packs, and respirators so in the event that our firefighters need to breathe on packs they are calm, cool, and collected. How can you aid in preventing fire this week? 👨‍🚒🔥
