💔💔💔💔💔We are begging our community… PLEASE LEAVE FAWNS ALONE.💔💔💔💔💔
Every single day we are getting messages and emails from people who have already picked up a fawn and then ask how to care for it😡😖😡
This is NOT okay!!! This is NOT legal!!! And this is NOT helping!!!!
If you see a fawn alone for a few hours, that does NOT mean it’s abandoned!!!
Mother deer intentionally leave their babies hidden while they go off to feed. She WILL come back!!!!!!!!!!
When you take that baby you are ILLEGALLY removing wildlife from the wild!!!!
You are causing extreme stress to the fawn!!!!💔
You are separating it from a mother who is actively caring for it💔
Now instead of a healthy baby waiting safely for mom YOU'VE created an orphan that did not need to be one!!!!
Please understand this clearly
Do NOT touch, move, or “rescue” a fawn without speaking to a licensed wildlife professional FIRST!!!!
If you’re reaching out to US , WAIT for a response before doing anything!!!!
We cannot undo the damage once that baby is taken💔.
This is getting completely out of control, and it is costing fawns their lives.💔💔💔
We are literally begging you LEAVE THE FAWNS WHERE THEY ARE!!!!!!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Mom is nearby. Let HER do HER job!!!

This is a post of something our K-9 handler, Deputy Chris Connor, sent me this evening. It’s a raw text message, so I’ll put the text in quotations. It goes to show us what God can do in our lives. K-9 handlers and their four-legged partners put in many hours of training for situations from drug detection and apprehension of armed and dangerous suspects to search and rescue. Deputy Connor and Chica are hard workers and a great team. We are extremely proud of our K9 team and the Fire and other first responders involved.

The text I received:

“Today sir was remarkable, I got a call about a 76 year old male who went missing around 8am this morning out on his four wheeler on his property out on Willow creek, I then asked if Valley fire n Rescue could assist in locating the male with there drones. I then got K9 chica out and packed up and set off on a track with her locked on, we tracked for probably over two miles through fields the woods and over some hills while tracking I asked the lord to help me find him when I creased the top of the hill and started the decent further into the woods I asked the lord one more time to give me a sign I then yelled out the males name and heard a faint yell back chica then located the male who rolled the four wheeler over the hill and collided with a tree and was trapped under the four wheeler for 4-5 hours myself along with members from Valley fire then flipped the four wheeler off the male and prepared to extract him out of the woods he was a type two diabetic who said didn’t eat since 7 this morning we then back boarded the male and extracted him out and into the care of EMS and then life flighted him to the hospital

Chica sir done a remarkable job along with the rest of Valley fire”

May God bless and heal this man.

Want to thank all the agencies that helped locate the missing juvenile this evening. Also, all the community members that showed up ready to help. We are very blessed to live in a community like ours, where everyone is willing to help at a moment's notice. A lot of cuts, scrapes, ticks, and other various bug bites were accrued, but at the end of the day, everyone, including the young lady, went home safe. Thank God Almighty for keeping her safe.

The Mason County Sheriff's Office was honored to swear in new Deputy James Musgrave. James will be attending the May class at the West Virginia State Police Academy. James served his country as a United States Marine and is now continuing his service to his community with us. A special thank you to Judge Craig Tatterson for always accommodating us. Welcome aboard, James!

We have taken several reports of this happening locally. Do not exchange money for deposits without meeting the property owner or property manager in person.

To the community, following concerns regarding the recent lockdown at New Haven Elementary School, I would like to address the situation. We acknowledge and understand the worry and frustration parents experience during such events, and our aim is to alleviate this concern. When a school initiates lockdown protocols, a series of protective measures are set in motion for the safety of students and staff. Educators and administrators undergo training to ensure student safety during these scenarios, and law enforcement officers train to effectively manage potential threats. The school board has guidelines for information dissemination in such situations. In cases where a genuine threat exists, it's crucial to prevent unauthorized individuals from entering the premises, particularly if armed, as this complicates threat assessment and mitigation. Every minute counts in these situations, and we cannot afford to divert resources to manage armed or unarmed civilians on school grounds. Having lived in this county for 49 years and knowing many educators, support staff, and administrators personally, I can confidently attest that they prioritize student safety above all; almost all would gladly sacrifice their own lives to save a child. They train to protect the children until law enforcement arrives. Sometimes, information must be restricted for safety reasons. It's essential to remember that educators and law enforcement are driven by public service, not personal gain. They make sacrifices for the safety and well-being of our children. God bless

Respectfully
