Point Pleasant, PA 18950 The small river town of Point Pleasant is located along scenic Route 32/River Road in historic Bucks County, PA. Admin: Deborah E-Platt & Jeni Minguez-Mogg

The town of Point Pleasant, PA. was once known as Lower Black Eddy. Point Pleasant extends along on both sides of Tohickon Creek by the creek’s confluence with the Delaware River; the creek is the dividing line between the townships. This area was originally settled by the Lenape Indians who fished in the Delaware River. Its proximity to the river led to the development of grist mills and, during

the Revolutionary War, grain for the soldiers was ground here. Point Pleasant was also resting spot for canalmen along the Delaware Canal, and a waystation for the Doylestown-Frenchtown-NewYork stagecoach. It would be pretty great if we put more solar panels over parking lots instead of using farmland, because those spaces are already paved, hot, and sitting there doing nothing but baking cars all day. A solar canopy turns that wasted real estate into clean power while adding shade, keeping vehicles cooler, reducing heat buildup, and even helping protect pavement from constant sun and weather. Meanwhile, farmland can stay focused on what it does best, growing food and supporting local agriculture, instead of being squeezed by new land demands. It’s a smarter use of space: power where people already park, and fields left for crops.

Pennsylvania drivers in the snow are a special kind of confident. The forecast says “light snow,” and suddenly half the state is acting like they’re qualifying for the Indy 500 on I-81, while the other half is doing 18 mph with the flashers on, white-knuckled, whispering prayers at every curve. You’ve got the lifted truck riding your bumper like you personally insulted his tires, the Subaru passing everybody like it’s on a mission from the Weather Channel, and somebody in a sedan trying to “feel it out” by tapping the brakes every twelve feet like the road’s a science experiment. Meanwhile PennDOT is out there doing its best, but the real salt is coming from the guy at the gas station telling you, “Back in ‘93 we didn’t even have plows,” while you’re just trying to make it home without sliding sideways into a Wawa sign like it’s calling your name.

**UPDATED STAND INFO IN THE COMMENTS** If you are missing the farm stand that used to be on Point Pleasant Pike just west of the 413/Durham Rd intersection, there is SWEET CORN and produce there today! It is still run by the Long Family Farm. "CoCo" is Cohen Long and he now has his own place on 313. Corn is the best around and they trade their corn for peaches at Mannoff's Orchard so tou don't have e ro drive to New Hope either! 🌽🌽🌽 - Jeni, Admin
