🎓 Congratulations to the Point Pleasant Recreation Preschool Class of 2026! 🎓

Yesterday, Mayor Sabosik and Council President Veni had the pleasure of joining our preschool graduation ceremony to celebrate a very special group of young students as they take the next step in their educational journey.

Our Recreation Preschool has been a cherished part of the community for many years, providing a fun, nurturing, and enriching environment where children can learn, grow, and build lasting friendships. We are incredibly proud of these future leaders and all they have accomplished.

Thank you to our Recreation Department staff and dedicated teachers whose hard work, patience, and commitment make this program one of the very best around.

Congratulations, graduates! We can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll achieve in the years ahead. 🎓⭐️💙

Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning as we gathered on this solemn day to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. 🇺🇸

Mayor Sabosik and the Borough Council were also proud to recognize Andrew Barten as this year’s Ceremonial Grand Marshal for our Memorial Day Ceremony. Mr. Barten, a United States Marine who served from 2001–2005, including combat service in Iraq during Operations Phantom Fury and New Dawn, delivered heartfelt remarks about his love for our country, our community, and the brothers-in-arms he served alongside who never made it home.

Today, and every day, we honor all of our nation’s service members throughout history who gave their lives defending the freedoms we hold dear. We remember their sacrifice, their courage, and their legacy. 🇺🇸

Mayor Sabosik and members of the Borough Council were honored to join Where Angels Play Foundation for the unveiling of new playground equipment at the Recreation Center on River Avenue. 💙

The Mayor along with Councimembers Veni & Coulson also presented a proclamation to the foundation recognizing all their efforts.

This beautiful playground was dedicated in memory of young Billy Paterno and will serve as a place where children and families can laugh, play, and create lasting memories for years to come.

The project was made possible through the incredible efforts of NJ State PBA members, local PBA members, firefighters, and Borough DPW employees who volunteered their time to help build the playground. Funding was provided through generous donations collected by Jersey Mike’s Subs.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped bring this meaningful project to life and honor Billy’s memory in such a special way. This playground will stand as a lasting reminder of community, compassion, and hope for future generations.

Mayor Sabosik, Council President Veni, Councilwoman Coulson and Councilmembers recently had the privilege of celebrating and supporting some of the incredible young people who make Point Pleasant such a special community.

The Borough proudly presented a proclamation to the Point Pleasant U8 Travel Girls Basketball Team in recognition of their outstanding season — winning the Mid Monmouth Championship and finishing the year undefeated! 🏆👏

We were also happy to welcome Cub Scout Pack 6 to Borough Hall, where they learned about local government and received a tour of the Police Department. 🚓🐾

Point Pleasant is filled with talented, hardworking, and engaged young people, and we are always proud to support and recognize their achievements.

Mayor Sabosik, along with Councilmembers Coulson and Archer, were proud to join the Point Pleasant Chamber of Commerce in welcoming two exciting businesses to Point Boro over the past few weeks!

We had the pleasure of celebrating both a grand opening and a re-opening:

✨ Graze Craze Charcuterie Boards & Boxes (2419 Bridge Avenue) — serving up beautifully crafted, ready-to-go or custom charcuterie boards made with top-quality ingredients. Perfect for any occasion!

🍽️ The Idle Hour Restaurant & Bar (2600 Route 88) — now under new ownership and bringing fresh energy, great food, and a welcoming atmosphere back to a local favorite.

Supporting our local businesses means supporting the heart of our community. Be sure to stop by, check them out, and show them some Point Boro love!

🚑 Supporting Those Who Serve Our Community 🚑

Point Pleasant Borough is proud to be home to one of the finest volunteer first aid squads in the State — and we remain committed to supporting their lifesaving work every step of the way.

Yesterday, Mayor Sabosik joined Councilmembers Coulson and Archer alongside EMS Chief Alexander and dedicated squad members to officially take delivery of a brand-new ambulance, replacing one of the squad’s aging units.

Mayor Sabosik shared:
“It’s our responsibility as a town to ensure our volunteers have the tools they need to serve our residents in times of need. We will always stand behind them. This new ambulance helps ensure the squad can continue their critical mission.”

👏 Thank you to our incredible volunteers for everything you do to keep our community safe! Point Boro EMS

🌿 Big News for Point Pleasant Borough! 🌿

Council President Joe Veni and Councilwoman Valerie Coulson joined NJ DEP Commissioner Ed Potosnak yesterday at Sunshine Harbor as the NJ Department of Environmental Protection awarded the Barnegat Bay Partnership a $4.8 million grant to restore 13 acres of the Nellie Bennett Salt Marsh right here in Point Borough.

Council President Veni highlighted the teamwork behind this achievement, noting that Mayor Sabosik, the Council, and the Barnegat Bay Partnership worked closely to bring this project to life. Restoring the marsh will strengthen coastal resiliency, enhance wildlife habitats, and help protect our community from storm surges and flooding.

Councilwoman Coulson reflected on the marsh’s history, sharing that it was once thriving and vibrant—and this project will help bring it back to life for the benefit of all residents. The plan includes rebuilding the marsh using dredged material from nearby lagoons and other environmentally friendly methods. All of this has been made possible by a dedicated group of volunteers and partners including our own Environmental Commission, Save Barnegat Bay and the Barnegat Bay Partnership.

👏 A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this happen—this is a proud moment for Point Pleasant!
