Point Boro EMS

Point Boro EMS You can help us to provide the service to the community for which we have been known to provide for nearly 50 years!

Point Boro EMS is a non-profit, volunteer organization that depends largely on fundraising and voluntary contributions from the citizens and governing body of Point Pleasant Boro. Donations made to Point Boro EMS allow us to preserve our current equipment and to purchase the most advanced medical equipment available to serve the residents of our service area.

As we celebrate National EMS Week, support the emergency responders who serve our communities every day. Beginning Sunday, May 17 through May 31, 2026, the Ocean County EMS Officers Association will be conducting a countywide bottled water drive. All donated water will be distributed to area rehab units and EMS agencies based on operational needs and the amount of supplies received. Your support helps keep our emergency services personnel hydrated and ready during emergency incidents, training operations, and large-scale responses throughout Ocean County. Drop-off locations are listed below on the flyer. Every donation makes a difference in supporting those who respond when our communities need them most.

While the “Force” is with us today, more importantly, today is International Firefighters Day.

Today, we honor the firefighters of Point Pleasant Fire Department Station 75, a brotherhood that represents generations of bravery, commitment, and selflessness. Chief Alexander and the members of Point Boro EMS appreciate every firefighter for their courage and sacrifice, everyday.

Last week our members attended a Rescue Task Force Operations Course hosted by Brick Township EMS/Rescue. Trainings like this go far beyond the routine scenarios we encounter. They prepare our EMTs to operate effectively in rapidly evolving situations alongside our public safety partners.

This training is critical to ensuring we can provide the highest level of care when it matters most. It allows our members to strengthen their communication skills, sharpen their critical decision making capabilities, and ultimately helps us better serve and protect our community.

Chief Alexander commends the volunteers of our agency for always wanting to improve their skills and continuing their education. Thank you to Brick Township EMS/Rescue for accommodating our members and providing a great course.

đźš‘ NEW AMBULANCE đźš‘

Yesterday, Chief Alexander and the members of Point Boro EMS took delivery of our new Ambulance 356. Replacing our 2016 Ford E350 is a 2026 F350 chassis with a Demers Ambulances MXP150 module.

Maintaining our fleet reaffirms our mission in providing the highest quality of care to our residents. As our ambulances wear and tear through years of calls for service, endless hours of emergency driving and idling, eventually, the cost benefit ratio in maintaining vehicles that will subsequently require more serious repairs and maintenance becomes impractical, consequently making us place an ambulance out of service for an extended time for repairs. This new ambulance allows us to operate at full capacity to provide professional service to our residents.

Huge shoutout to First Priority Group for their dedication in completing this project. We would also like to thank Mayor Sabosik and Borough Council for supporting our agency needs and providing us the best equipment to serve the Borough of Point Pleasant Borough.

Over the weekend, our members took a break from the rigs to celebrate both a late Easter and welcome the Spring season together with a potluck style dinner.

Afterwards, we traded gloves for dye kits and turned eggs into what we’ll call creative masterpieces!

Being volunteers and having conflicting schedules, we are grateful for moments like these outside of answering calls for service. Building teamwork, sharing laughs, and strengthening the bond that we have with each other helps us serve our community at the highest level!

This week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. We would like to thank this special group of people for all the hard work they put in 24/7, 365 days a year. They are the voice you hear throughout the chaos. They are often forgotten, under appreciated, and rarely thanked for what they do. Several of our members are Public Safety Telecommunicators and we understand the stresses that they experience on a daily basis.

A very special thank you to our dispatchers at Point Pleasant Police Department for ensuring the public safety entities of Point Pleasant receive the best services as well as providing the best quality service to our residents!

Since 2021, Dr. Matthew Letizia has been the EMS Medical Director for our agency. Dr. Letizia is a highly qualified, dual-certified EMS and Emergency Medicine Physician for Trinitas Regional Medical Center as well as the Medical Director for multiple other EMS agencies around the state. The purpose of having a Medical Director is to provide medical aspects of leadership, oversight, coordination, access to best practices, system quality management, and research in order to ensure the best possible EMS system for patients.

Since then, our agency has been proud supporters of the Gary Letizia Memorial Blood Drive, hosting numerous blood drives at our squad building. Through the support of our community members, whether through donating or helping spread the word, the Gary Letizia Memorial Blood Drive has reached an extraordinary milestone of 5,000 pints donated (625 gallons) through 146 successful blood drives around the state!

Each donation has the potential to save up to three lives, meaning this effort may have impacted as many as 15,000 patients, neighbors, families, and individuals in critical need. Many lives have been saved, time has been given, and hope has been restored when it mattered most.

As a proud sponsor of this life saving mission, we would like to thank our community members for donating to this great cause. We will continue to support the Gary Letizia Memorial Blood Drive and hope to see you at our next hosted drive!
