Poland Knights Baseball Players,
For hours now I have been trying to find the right words to capture the feelings after the MPA announcement canceling the 2020 Spring Sports Season.
Disappointment, grief, sadness, frustration, anger, understanding and acceptance are all the emotions I am, as I am sure most of you are feeling.
I know the effort that you players had put in for the 2020 season. From the incoming freshman who had boundless enthusiasm to our seniors who were poised to deliver a great year of baseball for the Knights. I thank you all, but specifically, Seniors, I want to take a minute to address you all.
Brady, Brycen, Daulton, Davin, Josh, Nick, Ivan, and Noah. I have been humbled to coach all of you since your freshman year. We began our journeys together. Myself as a first year Varsity Head Coach, and you all as the eager freshmen with boundless enthusiasm. I looked out at you all, that first tryout in the gym, and I was tremendously excited for what the next four years would hold. You all have given so much to the Knights Baseball Porgram, and entirely bought into our mission. We have won games, and been successful the right way, with respect and honor, winning back to back Sportsmanship Awards. You boys have provided a foundation of excellence for the Knights Baseball Program.
I anticipated I would have had more time to say thank you. More time to show you my appreciation. More time to laugh with you, shake my head at you, to enjoy your triumphs. More time to coach the fine young men you are. Word can not suffice what the class of 2020 has meant to me personally. Boys, simply thank you.
To the rest of the program. I look forward to the chance we will have to return to the field. That time will come. In the meantime focus on staying healthy, happy, and being good citizens of the RSU 16 community.
We are Knights Baseball. And like the Knights of the Roundtable we will return to the field with honor and respect.
To the extended family of Knights Baseall, stay safe
