Kripchak is actively campaigning to represent the 33rd District in the Ohio State Senate. Michael grew up on Youngstown’s Westside in a household of public servants: his mother is a retired elementary school teacher, and his father is a U.S. After graduating from Chaney High School as his class co-valedictorian, Michael continued his education at the United States Air Force Academy. He graduated f
rom the Academy with Distinguished Graduate Honors (cum laude) and was commissioned a 2nd Lt in the United Staes Air Force. Stationed at the Air Force Research Laboratory at Hanscom Air Force Base in MA, he served as a research science and acquisitions officer where he worked on Classified programs and was a member of New England’s Regional Honor Guard. Managing a budget of over $1M in federal funding, he oversaw the transition of several advanced capabilities from research and development to practical applications for our men and women deployed overseas fighting the War on Terrorism. Fulfilling his obligation to the Air Force, Michael came home to Youngstown before heading out west to study business at Santa Monica College. Switching colleges and coasts, he earned a Master’s Degree in telecommunications at NYU-Tisch. While in grad school he and several of his classmates co-founded a start-up focused on electronic signal location tracking. Taking the lead of their company, NGENS, Inc., as head of partnerships, he was responsible for securing funding through investors and incubators, as well as client outreach. They found western PA was the best match for what they wanted to accomplish and moved operations to Erie to work with local manufacturers there on equipment tracking and production efficiency solutions. Like many small businesses, Covid-19 brought their venture to a close. He then moved back to Youngstown to be close to his parents who were then dealing with some health issues and began his teaching career at his alma mater, Chaney, teaching math. Michael is dedicated to bringing the same energy and leadership that he uses to serve his community to the constituents of the 33rd District. He is the leader needed to bring integrity and true constituent services to the taxpayers of the district.
