Today District personnel and Association members fulfilled our annual mission to mark the graves of former Poland firefighters in Riverside cemetery. We also recognize firefighters from other departments who are buried here, including a retired captain of FDNY Engine 75. Pictured graves below include those of all retired Poland chiefs-Johnston, Blackman, Wegele, and Chinowth.

Poland Firefighters had another great day at McKinley Elementary-as we got to eat with the students and play at recess. A fun way to end the week!!

This is one of the many reasons we do what we do here at the fire department. While not every call has an outcome like this, these are the moments we remember and cherish. They remind us why we show up each and every day to serve Poland and the surrounding communities.

This morning’s structure fire had a very important (and very adorable) assignment alongside the usual operations. 🐾🚒
While crews worked inside, one of our firefighters stayed with Paisley, making sure she was safe, calm, and cared for. With the homeowner’s permission, we’re happy to share that she got some fresh air, a little walk, and plenty of reassurance during a stressful situation.

Fires are scary for everyone involved—including our four-legged family members. We’re always here to help protect what matters most.
Paisley did great, and we’re glad we could be there for her when she needed it. ❤️

Today was our Prom Promise Program with the Poland High School. This program shows the Juniors and Seniors what could happen if they drive under the influence.
