This morning at approximately 9:30 AM The City of Polson Fire Department, along with the Polson Rural Fire District, responded to a report of flooding around the Polson Health and Rehabilitation building.
Arriving crews found an irrigation canal beside the Boys and Girls Club that was flooding the area. A portable pump and 300” of hose were used to divert the water to secondary canal while Flathead Irrigation slowed the flow of water upstream. CSKT Disaster and Emergency Services provided immediate access to a trailer of sandbags, of which a dozen were used to contain the flooding.
No further issues are expected to occur, but the portable pump will remain on site, and flooded areas will be monitored throughout the weekend.
Other responding agencies included the Polson Rural Fire District, City of Polson Public Works Department, CSKT Disaster and Emergency Services, and the staff of the Boys & Girls Club and Polson Health & Rehabilitation. The City of Polson Fire Department thanks everyone for their help.
