The Pomfret Public Library invites community members to a special edition of its weekly Memory Café featuring Life in Balance on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Laurie String and Matthew Chuck of Rude Dog Boxing will focus on practical ways to maintain mobility, balance, and strength while aging. Participants will learn simple techniques and exercises that can help improve stability, support everyday movement, and promote healthy, active living.
Designed for older adults, caregivers, and anyone interested in healthy aging, Life in Balance offers an encouraging and welcoming environment where attendees can discover strategies for staying active and reducing the risk of falls. No prior fitness experience is required.
The program will be held at the Pomfret Public Library, 449 Pomfret Street, Pomfret, as part of the library's weekly Memory Café. Memory Cafés provide a friendly, supportive gathering place for individuals living with memory loss, cognitive changes, and their care partners.
Admission is free, and all are welcome.
