🌎 Nominate an environmental volunteer for the County Executive’s Outstanding Environmental Volunteer Award! 🌿

This award recognizes Rockland residents who go above and beyond to protect our parks, strengthen our watersheds, reduce waste, and care for our natural environment.

The honoree will be recognized at a tree dedication ceremony at Kennedy Dells Park in New City on October 8th.

Towards the end of each summer, Monarch butterflies fly thousands of miles from northern latitudes as they migrate down to Mexico.

The Rockland County Soil and Water Conservation District will be hosting an in-person training event where YOU can learn how to monitor and collect data on Monarch butterfly eggs and larvae as they complete this journey!

This summer, the Division of Environmental Resources hosted members from the Rockland Conservation & Service Corps at the Rockland Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) monitoring for monarch butterfly larva and at the Parks Department performing trail assessments and reconstruction.

Last week, they celebrated the end of the season with their final project presentations. A big thank you to corps members, Micah, Dan, Kristen, Zeke, Matthew, and Charles, on all the work they accomplished this summer!

Join us in celebrating the end of the season working with the Rockland Conservation & Service Corps! Members served with our Soil and Water Conservation District and Parks Department. Stop by the open house season finale to learn about the work they completed this summer!

Our Season Finale is almost here! Join us on Thursday, August 6, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Rockland County Fire Training Center as we wrap up another incredible summer with our Corps Members.

Take a look at the projects they've completed, hear about their experiences, and learn how they've made a difference in communities across Rockland County.

Stop by whenever you can. It's an open house, so you're welcome to come and go throughout the afternoon. We'll gather at 2:00 PM for awards and remarks to celebrate our Corps Members and all they've accomplished this summer.

We could not let the month of July go by without celebrating our incredible Rockland County Parks team that works behind the scenes to keep our County parks beautiful, safe, and welcoming for everyone.

From maintaining trails and facilities to keeping our parks clean, protecting natural resources, and assisting visitors, our dedicated park staff work hard every day—often before the first visitor arrives and long after the last one leaves. Their commitment makes it possible for thousands of residents and visitors to enjoy our parks throughout the year.

Thank you to our amazing Rockland County Parks staff for your dedication, hard work, and pride in what you do. We appreciate everything you do to make our parks a place everyone can enjoy!
