This past weekend, members from Company 1 took our antique 1929 Ford Model A pumper to the Pompton Lakes Antique Fire Truck Muster. Our Model A spent many years in service to Pequannock Township, battling many fires and protecting the property of countless residents. Now, it enjoys spending its retirement at events such as this. After putting many meticulous man hours into the prep of this old apparatus, we were honored to bring home the 1st place “People’s Choice” trophy!

Yesterday at 2:15pm, Companies were dispatched up to Cedar Crest Village for the report of a dumpster on fire. Upon arrival, Chief 2 confirmed a 20-yard dumpster filled with construction debris was burning in the Valley View building parking lot. Engine 1-4 stretched a hoseline and extinguished the fire along with crews from Engine 2-1 and 1-1.

Prior to fire department arrival, the fire had extended into an adjacent storage container, causing minor damage to the contents inside. The container was checked by FD personnel and all fire inside was extinguished.

All units cleared the scene by 3:00pm.

Last week, the Pequannock Junior Firefighters traveled to the Passaic County Fire Academy for an Engine Operations/Hoseline Advancement drill. Junior members participated in multiple evolutions and scenarios within the Academy’s training building, stretching hoselines up stairwells, down hallways, and into basements to simulate various structure fire scenarios.
