A Veteran of Desert Shield/Desert Storm Steve leads the way in professional skills, knowledge, and practical application. His discipline and work ethics made Steve an impactful choice in 2003 for Under Sheriff, where he has built a resume that has prepared him for the critical task of becoming Sheriff. With 10 years of operational experience Steve has overseen meticulous maintenance of the budget, the building of a new jail, receipt of $350,000 in grant money to purchase critical equipment, and has established programs that have increase rapport with local and state police agencies. Steve’s own education includes over 1700 hours of Law Enforcement continued education and training. With training from the FBI, Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, Drug Enforcement Agency, and Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation Steve continues to add to the tool box that will ensure continual protection of Kay County is maintained.
