Ponce Prepared Storm Tip
📁 Protect What Matters Most

When a storm is approaching, protecting your important documents can save time, stress, and frustration during recovery. Take a few minutes now to prepare before hurricane season intensifies. 🌪️

✔️ Store important documents in waterproof containers 💧
✔️ Back up files digitally or to the cloud ☁️
✔️ Include insurance policies, IDs, medical records, and emergency contacts 🪪
✔️ Keep copies in an easy-to-grab location if you need to evacuate 🚗

Being organized before a storm can make recovery much faster afterward.

Today, the Town of Ponce Inlet gathered beneath the backdrop of the iconic Ponce Inlet Lighthouse to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country during our 2026 Memorial Day Ceremony. It was a beautiful day and a meaningful tribute to our troops, veterans, and their families. ❤️🤍💙

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the many individuals and organizations who helped make this ceremony so special:

🌺 The Garden Club, Veterans Association, Ponce Inlet Police Department, Ponce Inlet Fire Department, Town Council members, and the Volusia Young Marines for participating in the wreath ceremony
🎤 Mark Oebbecke and the Veterans Association for organizing the event and serving as Master of Ceremonies
🎶 Emily McComb for her beautiful performances of the National Anthem and “I’m Proud to Be an American”
🇺🇸 Mayor Lois Paritsky for her remarks about the importance of this ceremony to the residents of Ponce Inlet and for introducing Senator Tom Wright
👏 Senator Tom Wright for serving as guest speaker
🪡 Terry Burtchell for the presentation of a Quilt of Valor to Ponce Inlet resident Joseph DiCarlo in recognition of his contributions to the Ponce Inlet Veteran's Memorial
🎺 The Spruce Creek High School Band for the moving performance of TAPS
🙏 David Bell for the opening and closing prayers

We would also like to thank our distinguished attendees, including Mayor Nancy Miller of Daytona Beach Shores, Sheriff Mike Chitwood, County Councilman Matt Reinhart, and Laura Roth, Clerk of Court for Volusia County, for joining us in honoring our nation’s heroes.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended and joined us in remembering and honoring those who gave their lives in service to our nation. 🇺🇸✨
