🎆🇺🇸 4th of July Safety Tips from Your Friends at Ponchatoula Fire Department 🇺🇸🎆

We’d rather see your fireworks on Facebook than see you at 2 a.m. 🚒😂

🔥 4th of July Survival Guide:

* If the firework says “Run”… believe it.
* Sparklers are NOT lightsabers. (Sorry, kids… and adults.)
* Keep a bucket of water nearby—for the fireworks, not Uncle Larry.
* Don’t hold fireworks in your hand unless your life goal is to have nine fingers.
* The grill is for burgers and hot dogs—not flip-flops.
* Adult beverages and fireworks mix about as well as cats and bathtubs.
* If you can hear someone say, “Watch this!”… it’s probably time to take a few steps back.
* Keep pets indoors. They don’t celebrate freedom by sounding like fireworks.
* When you’re done, soak used fireworks in water before tossing them away.

🇺🇸 Have fun, celebrate responsibly, and help us enjoy the holiday from the station—not your driveway.

From all of us at Ponchatoula Fire Department, have a safe and Happy 4th of July! 🎇🚒

The National Weather Service has released a forecast for the Tangipahoa River at Robert to be at 21 feet, which is at major flood stage.

Historical data shows that the Tangipahoa River at this stage will be flowing into homes along Highway 445 and Highway 443.

Hwy 445 will be underwater and closed from Highway 190 to Interstate 12. Louisiana Highway 22 will be underwater in many places. Access to Magnolia Island and Lee's Landing will be cut off as well. The river will crest sometime on Friday evening, June 19, and will remain through Monday, June 22.

Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller urges residents in these areas to make the necessary preparations during this time.
