BURN BAN & CUREW UPDATE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AMITE—Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller announced Friday, Sept. 17, that the parish’s burn ban and nightly curfew have been lifted.
Both were put in place as a direct result of the impact of Hurricane Ida.
Miller offered his appreciation to the public for their cooperation and patience in these first three weeks of the parish’s recovery after the Category 4 storm.
At this time, the only Hurricane Ida-related restriction still in place involves recreational traffic on local waterways. Miller said high water from Hurricane Nicholas and continued issues with Ida-related debris in local waterways make recreational traffic too dangerous at this time. He said camp owners will be able to travel to their properties; however, all recreational traffic remains prohibited at this time.
