Missing Person Located Deceased
Pond Creek, Oklahoma — It is with great sadness that we report that 72-year-old Jerry Golden, who was reported missing on Friday, August 21, and had been missing since Tuesday Aug 18th, has been located today deceased.
Mr. Golden was last seen at approximately 0900 hours in Pond Creek, Oklahoma. Shortly after he was reported missing, a Silver Alert was issued to assist in locating him.
Mr. Golden was located in Grant County, approximately four miles north of Pond Creek on U.S. Highway 81. The Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office was notified shortly after authorities located Mr. Golden.
Next of kin has been notified.
We sincerely appreciate the public's assistance and the quick response from everyone who helped share the Silver Alert and information regarding Mr. Golden's disappearance.
At this time, no further information is available for release. Additional information will be provided if and when it becomes appropriate to do so.
Our thoughts are with Mr. Golden's family and loved ones during this difficult time.

MISSING. Jerry Golden of Pond Creek Ok has been reported missing from his home on Tuesday Aug 19th 2026. Golden is 72 year old native American 5 foot, 150 lb with gray hair and brown eyesMr. Golden was last seen at First state Bank of Pond Creek making a withdraw of small amount of money in the early morning. Mr. Golden made statements on Monday of possibly visiting his sister in Weleetka Ok. Mr. Golden was driving a 2001 black Chevey sk1 pickup. Possible Indian nation tags. Last tag number on file is Ok MMK 709. If seen. Please contact your local police.

ARMED AND DANGEROUS: Authorities are searching for a man who is wanted for suspected aggravated battery in Harper County on Friday.

Harper County Undersheriff Kenny Hodson says at around 3 a.m. Friday, the sheriff's office was alerted and responded to a possible battery in the northern part of the county.

While en route, the office was contacted by the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office, and it was determined that the battery was a continuation of a possible aggravated battery that occurred in Sedgwick County.

Branndon Joseph Bergman, 27, of Anthony, Kansas, was determined to be the suspect in the case, Hodson says.

"Officers searched several locations in rural Harper County and Anthony, Kansas and were unable to apprehend Bergman, who is wanted by authorities and remains at large," Hodson said. "We ask anybody that has any tips or observes Bergman to immediately call 911."

Officials are asking the public not to approach Bergman, as he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Good morning Pond Creek.

We have had a few complaints/concerns about children on bikes and scooters. We absolutely love seeing the children outside playing and enjoying the summer weather. Please make your children traffic aware, stopping at signs, entering roadways, looking out for pedestrians and vehicles. I witnessed a few children just lastnight not looking across Broadway before crossing. If the public would like the police depatment to put on a bike and scooters safety class. Lets all take a few minutes and say a prayer for our first responders. They see things most people only see in nightmares and they live with these images for the rest of their lives. Unfortunately, Tonight was one of those nights for our guys and gals. Please thank them for what they sacrifice.

Tonight we lift up every first responder who puts on the uniform and steps into the unknown to serve others.
Lord, You see the firefighters running toward danger, the police officers standing between chaos and peace, the paramedics bringing help in moments of crisis. You see the long nights, the difficult calls, the weight they carry that most people will never fully understand.

Father, place Your hand of protection over them. Guard their minds, strengthen their hearts, and guide their decisions in moments when seconds matter. When the stress is heavy and the scenes are hard, give them courage, clarity, and peace.

Watch over their families who wait at home, trusting that You will bring their loved ones back safely. Give them comfort, strength, and patience as well.

Lord, surround these men and women with Your presence. Let them know they are never alone, even in the darkest moments of their duty.

Protect them on every call, every shift, and every road they travel.
