Noteworthy Calls of the Weeks: April 19th through May 9th -
ARRESTS-
April 22nd-
• James P. Bennett (42) of Sandpoint was arrested on an outstanding Misdemeanor Warrant in the 477000 block of Highway 95.
April 24th-
• Royce R. Cratty (59) of Sandpoint was cited and released for Driving without Privileges in the 477100 block of Highway 95.
April 28th-
• Michelle A. Roberson (70) of Sandpoint was cited and released for Petit Theft in the 476900 block of Highway 95.
• Jennifer A. Benoit (46) of Sagle was charged with Grand Theft following incidents in the 476900 block of Highway 95.
May 1st-
• Dustin Norris (26) of Sandpoint was cited and released for 2nd Offense - Failure to Maintain Liability Insurance in the 474800 block of Highway 95.
May 5th -
• Timothy J. Franks (29) of Sandpoint was arrested on an outstanding Felony Warrant in the 477000 block of Highway 95.
May 7th -
• Debra L. Darling (51) of Sandpoint was arrested for a Driving Under the Influence- Refusal in the 477200 block of Highway 95.
May 8th-
•Michelle A. Roberson (70) of Sandpoint was charged with Petit Theft in the 476900 block of Highway 95.
• Donald M. Thomas (44) of Sandpoint was arrested for Driving Under the Influence- Excessive Concentration in the 477100 block of Highway 95.
OTHER NOTABLE CALLS-
- A Ponderay officer responded to a Trespass at Goodwill.
A Ponderay officer responded to Goodwill and made contact with a male who was repeatedly pulling clothes off the rack for hours and placing them on top of the isles. It did not appear the male had any intention of making a purchase but seemed to be doing this for no other apparent reason other than causing employees extra work. The male had also attempted to steal items from the business the day prior but was caught by employees and made to return the items. The male was issued to criminal trespass from the business at their request.
- Ponderay officers responded to a Threats call at Walmart.
A Ponderay officer received a phone call of a person stating they wanted to “do a mass shooting” at Walmart. Officers immediately responded and patrolled the area, contacting several people. No threats were identified and no attack or disturbances took place. The call is believed to have been a prank or ‘swatting’ type call - similar to other threatening calls that have targeted other local businesses and schools in the recent weeks.
- A Ponderay officer responded to a Gunshot call near Janish Drive.
A Ponderay officer responded to a Gunshot call near Janish Drive to assist Bonner County Sheriff’s Deputies. Deputies were with a victim who believed he had been shot in the face. The Ponderay officer assisted by maintain a perimeter post, while sheriff’s Deputies searched, located, and ultimately arrested the offender without incident. The gun was discovered to be a Co2 pistol that fired a rubber ball/pellet. The victim had been struck in the jaw by at least one pellet. Assist Only.
