Meet Interim Superintendent Jennifer Dean

We’ve heard an important question from members of our community: "Who is Jennifer Dean?"

While she may be new to the role of Interim Superintendent, she is certainly not new to Pontiac Schools.

The 2026-27 school year marks Dean’s 28th year serving the district. She began her Pontiac Schools career in 1999 as an elementary teacher, serving students in kindergarten through fourth grade at multiple schools. She later served as an Instructional Coach at Alcott Elementary before moving into her current district leadership role as Data and Assessment Coordinator.

Dean holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Michigan-Flint, a Master in the Art of Education from Marygrove College and an Educational Specialist in Leadership from Oakland University.

As Interim Superintendent, Dean’s immediate priority is helping ensure a safe, successful start to the 2026-27 school year for Pontiac students and staff.

With nearly three decades of experience in Pontiac Schools, she brings a deep understanding of our district, our schools and, most importantly, the students and families we serve.

Thank you to everyone who came out for Pontiac Schools’ Community Fair and Movie Night! We loved seeing so many of our students, families and community members come together for an evening of fun, connection and back-to-school excitement.

Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties with the movie screen, we were unable to show Zootopia 2 as planned. We know many families were looking forward to the movie, and we sincerely apologize for the disappointment.

The good news: Movie Night isn’t canceled, just postponed! We’re working to reschedule it for this fall and will share the new date as soon as details are finalized.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and for making the Community Fair such a great evening!

Bring the family, grab a spot and spend the evening with us! Students must be accompanied by an adult.

The countdown is on!

Join us for an evening of family fun featuring a community fair, free backpacks and school supplies (while supplies last), free snacks, activities, and an outdoor showing of Zootopia 2.

Bring your lawn chairs or blankets, gather the family, and get ready for a great night with Pontiac Schools. Students must be accompanied by an adult.

Reminder: PEACE Academy is Still Enrolling New Students!

There's still time to enroll your student in the FREE preschool program at PEACE Academy for the upcoming school year.

Our office will be open for new student enrollment during the following dates and times:

August 10–13: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
August 18–21: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
August 24–26: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
