--FREE meals for children ages 1–18
--No income requirements — open to any Illinois family
--Each child receives 7 breakfasts + 7 lunches

Our very own Carly Zimmer, Clinical Dietitian with the Livingston County Health Department, and Rachel Bauman, Clinical Dietitian with OSF Saint James Medical Center, are at Dave's Supermarket until 1:00 PM today sharing samples of a delicious Sweet Potato Rainbow Salad from the new Inspired by the Season Farm Fresh Food Kits.

Whether you're picking up your pre-ordered kit or just stopping into shop, be sure to say hi, grab a recipe, and learn a few tips for making healthy eating simple, affordable, and delicious!

We're excited to have our very own Carly Zimmer, Clinical Dietitian with the Livingston County Health Department and Rachel Bauman, Clinical Dietitian with OSF Saint James Medical Center in-store today from 11:00 AM–1:00 PM at Dave's Supermarket in Fairbury, IL, where they'll be sampling a delicious Sweet Potato Rainbow Salad made with ingredients featured in the new Inspired by the Season Farm Fresh Food Kits!

Food insecurity is a real challenge in our communities, and together we're doing something about it. The Livingston County Health Department and OSF Saint James - John W. Albrecht Medical Center proud to partner to bring Inspired by the Season Farm Fresh Food Kits to local families, made possible through the generosity of Spence Farm LLC and Dave's Supermarket.

A huge thank you to everyone who pre-ordered a kit! Your Farm Fresh Food Kits are ready for pickup anytime today or tomorrow. Simply stop by Customer Service or ask a member of the Produce Team, and they'll retrieve your kit from the cooler.

🍠🥕To help inspire your next healthy meal, be sure to check out our recipe video featuring Rachel and Carly as they walk you through how to turn these fresh ingredients into something truly tasty.

Didn't get a chance to pre-order? The kits have sold out, but don't worry! Rachel and Carly will have extra recipe sheets available so you can easily shop for the ingredients and recreate the recipe at home.

Wow, Livingston County — you did it once again! 🎉

The response to our Summer Food Program has been incredible, and all available box registrations have once again been claimed!

Registration is now temporarily closed, but don't worry—we'll reopen registration this Tuesday with another round of boxes available. 🙌

A few reminders:
✅ Check back Tuesday for the registration link.
✅ You only need to register once for the entire summer.

We'll see everyone Monday for food distribution!

*Experience in providing parenting services and home visits helpful.
*Must be able to attend required trainings in Springfield/Chicago.

Severe weather can strike fast — make sure you and your family are ready. Here’s what to do before the storm hits:
✅ Make an Emergency Kit:
Water, non‑perishable food, flashlights, batteries, first‑aid supplies, medications, chargers, cash, and important documents in waterproof bags.
🔔 Stay Informed:
Turn on Wireless Emergency Alerts, use a NOAA Weather Radio, and follow your local National Weather Service updates.
🏠 Know Your Safe Places:
• Tornado → Basement or interior room with no windows
• Flooding → Higher ground, never enter floodwater
• Winter storm → Extra blankets, safe heat sources
🔌 Prep Your Home:
Secure outdoor items, trim weak branches, install surge protectors, and know how to shut off utilities.
🚘 Get Your Vehicle Ready:
Keep the tank at least half full and store emergency supplies like blankets, jumper cables, snacks, and a phone charger.
📞 Have a Family Plan:
Decide where to meet, how to communicate, and ensure everyone knows what to do during warnings.
🐾 Don’t Forget Pets:
Pack food, meds, and carriers so they’re safe too.
