Come early!

In two focused hours, leaders and advocates are coming together to fuel the critical operations that ensure families find safety tonight and stability tomorrow.

What you're walking into:
• Strolling hors d'oeuvres and dinner, cash bar
• Carolyn Clifford as our MC
• Karen Lippowiths' "Extended Stay" installation, a firsthand look at families living long term in extended-stay hotels right here in our county
• Guest speakers including Carolyn Clifford, Karen Lippowiths, Kenneth Briggs, Senator Rosemary Bayer, State Representative Brenda Carter, Senator Jeremy Moss, and Pontiac's greatest mayor of all time, Mike McGuinness, just to name a few

Free parking in the lot across the street. Just pull up and one of our attendants will let you in. Dress is business casual.

Five days out! Here's something new.

Karen McCann Lippowiths, the documentary photographer behind the exhibit at Safe Tonight, Home Tomorrow, has released a limited edition collection of prints from her Extended Stay project. These are the faces and rooms of families living long term in motels across Michigan, Kentucky, Ohio, and beyond. A boy peeking through a Red Roof Inn window in Southfield. A Fourth of July "staycation" at the Rodeway Inn in Auburn Hills. A man in Detroit searching for his ID five months after being forced out of the Leland Hotel.

Every print is signed, framed, and numbered. Proceeds through October 1 support Safe Tonight Shelter and Kids Empowered on the Move.

A few things worth knowing:
Buy now through October 1. Pick up at the event, or have it shipped after.
You do not have to attend to purchase.
Take it home, or donate it for display at The Collective, where you'll be recognized as the sponsor.
Two sizes: 14x8 (edition of 15, $375 suggested minimum) and 30x17 (edition of 5, $2,500 suggested minimum). 100% of the large print proceeds go to Safe Tonight, Home Tomorrow.

Fall is HERE!! We want all of it. The c***r, the donuts, the pumpkin guts on the table.

We also want the things in these photos that don't come from an orchard.

Knowing every person on the street by name and what they need.
Fewer people sleeping outside.
Removing whatever is standing between someone and a home.
More housing people can actually afford.

That's the real work, and it doesn't stop when the leaves fall.
