Today, the members of the Long Lake Fire Department pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

Memorial Day is a time to reflect on the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who gave their lives to protect the freedoms we enjoy every day.

We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who have served our nation.

Please remember our fallen heroes. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Your Long Lake Firefighters, at approximately 19:50 hrs were paged out for a Commercial Structure Fire at the LaQuinta Inn in Pontoon Beach.

2100 arrived on scene to find smoke showing from the rear of the building.

Firefighters quickly began investigating, and extinguished the fire without incident.

We want to thank our 1st alarm mutual aid companies and our mutual aid tanker companies:

Fairmont City Fire Department
State Park Volunteer Fire Department
South Roxana Fire Department
Granite City Firefighters Local 253
Troy Fire Protection District
Glen Carbon Volunteer Fire Department
Madison County - IL Emergency Management Agency

We also want to thank Maryville Village Fire Department for standing by at our station!

Chief 2100, Asst Chief 2101, Engine 2116, Ladder 2131, Rescue Squad 2151 & Utility 2190 Responded.

All units returned in service.

You’re Long Lake FireFighters along with Mitchell Fire Rescue and Fairmont City Fire Department responded mutual aid for the Madison Fire Department to assist with a Structure Fire.

The fire was extinguished with out incident.

Ladder 2131 responded to the scene.
