Lunching with Books was a wonderful afternoon of fishing stories, conversation, and community as Dr. Evan Peacock shared insights from his book Return to Elkins Creek. Part memoir, part cultural history, and part historical vignette, the book uses fishing as a thread connecting changing times, memorable characters, and rich storytelling. Even those who have never picked up a fishing pole could appreciate the humor, history, and heartfelt stories woven throughout. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special program! 📚🎣

See you later, alligator! Storytime is winding down for the summer with only one more week to go. This week we read Gator, Gator, Gator! by Daniel Bernstrom. Mr. Woody Speights of MDWFP came and taught us about alligators, helped the kids demonstrate how big alligators can get in the wild, and even let us pet a young alligator! We rounded all that up by using bubble wrap and paint to demonstrate the bumpy, textured skin of an alligator.
