Click it or Ticket Memorial Day Campaign 2026

If you saw increased safety checkpoints and deputies out and about from May 11-31st, you witnessed firsthand the Pearl River County Sheriff's Department participating in the National Click it or Ticket Campaign, which was a major success.

Through the increased checkpoints and patrols, we believe we helped keep the community safe and reminded all drivers and passengers of how important buckling up is.

35 Checkpoints, 25 Seatbelt tickets, 26 Suspended licenses, 26 No insurance, and 3 child restraint violations

Issuing tickets was not our goal, but it was a way to remind people of the importance of a simple action.

The national seatbelt usage rate in 2024 was 91.2%. The Click it or Ticket campaign focuses on the remaining 8.8% who still don't buckle up. Thousands of lives could be saved each year if every person were properly restrained on the road.
