Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

Weather Service when you can do so safely.

CAUTION:

Flooded roads are extremely dangerous and can become deadly in seconds. Just a small amount of moving water can sweep a vehicle off the roadway, and it’s often impossible to tell how deep the water really is or if the road underneath has been washed away.

Please do not attempt to drive through flooded areas. No destination is worth risking your life or the lives of first responders who may have to rescue you.

If you encounter water over the roadway: • Turn around and find another route
• Slow down during heavy rain
• Stay alert for barricades and warning signs
• Never ignore road closure signs

Stay safe and help keep our roads safe for everyone.

Last week our crew trained on ladder operations, ladder bailout techniques, and window entry skills to help prepare for high-stress emergency situations.

Over the last few weeks, our crews have been training hard to sharpen their skills and stay prepared for whatever comes our way. From mock structure fires and search patterns to hose advancement and fireground operations and rehab, our members have been putting in the work.

No two calls are ever the same, which is why training is such an important part of what we do.

These drills help build teamwork, confidence, and the ability to react quickly in real-world situations.
We are proud of the dedication our firefighters continue to show in serving and protecting our community.
