🏛️ BEAUTIFYING PORT ALLEN — ONE PROJECT AT A TIME!🌿

There is something special happening at our historic Port Allen Depot, and I am proud of the work being done to bring new life and beauty to this important piece of our city.

Our City of Port Allen employees have been hard at work helping beautify the Depot and surrounding area. I want our citizens to see the work that often happens behind the scenes—the cleaning, landscaping, improvements, maintenance, and countless small details that together make a BIG difference.

As Mayor, one of my goals is to continue making Port Allen a city we are proud to call home and proud for others to visit. Beautification may seem like a small thing to some, but how we care for our city says a lot about who we are. When we invest in our neighborhoods, public spaces, landmarks, and history, we are investing in our community.

The Depot is especially important because our vision is not simply to improve its appearance. We want to preserve its history, restore its beauty, and help transform it into a place that our residents can enjoy and visitors will want to experience.

And I want to personally recognize our city employees and Mrs Rose Roche and Daryl Louis for helping spearhead this project. ❤️ These employees are putting in the work to help turn that vision into reality. I appreciate their willingness to roll up their sleeves and take pride in the community they serve.

There is still more work ahead, and you will continue to see improvements throughout our city. We are working. We are improving. We are preserving. And we are beautifying Port Allen—together.

I am proud of our progress, but even more excited about where we are going.

💙 A Special Thank You to AT&T! 💻

The City of Port Allen would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to AT&T for coming into our community and giving back to our senior citizens through today’s Laptop Giveaway

It means so much to see organizations and individuals invest in our seniors and help ensure they have access to technology and the opportunities that come along with it. Our seniors have given so much to our communities over the years, and they deserve to know that they have not been forgotten.

We are especially grateful to Mr. Levar for helping make this possible and for taking the time to come out and be a part of this special occasion. Acts of generosity like this are what community partnership is all about.

We would also like to recognize the West Baton Rouge Parish Library, Mr Aubrey and State Representative Edmond Jordan for their partnership in helping bring this opportunity to our seniors.

To everyone who played a role in making today possible, thank you for pouring back into West Baton Rouge Parish and our senior community. 💙

When businesses, community leaders, and local organizations come together, we can continue making a positive difference—one person and one opportunity at a time.

The City of Port Allen extends its condolences to the family and loved ones of Former Mayor Derek A. Lewis upon his passing.

As a former elected Mayor of the City of Port Allen, Mr. Lewis will remain a part of our city's history. At this time, we respectfully acknowledge his passing while keeping in our thoughts all families and members of our community who may be affected by this news.

“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4 (KJV)

May God provide comfort, strength, and peace to all who are grieving during this difficult time.

On behalf of the City of Port Allen, we extend our sincere condolences to the Lewis family and ask our community to remain RESPECTFUL and compassionate toward everyone impacted by this loss.
