🇺🇸🦅✨ WOW! What a week! ✨🦅🇺🇸

Our outgoing 8th graders had an AMAZING time exploring Washington, D.C. during the celebration of our nation’s 250th anniversary! 🎉🇺🇸

From standing in awe of the Washington Monument 🏛️ to visiting the United States Capitol 🇺🇸, touring incredible museums 🦕🎨📚, and experiencing so many historic sites (including our Jerry McDonald winners -Skylar and Hart - finding his name on Memorial Wall)…our students got a firsthand look at our nation’s rich history and the people and places that helped shape it.

A HUGE shoutout to Mrs. Young 🌟 for organizing this unforgettable adventure and to all of the amazing volunteers ❤️ who helped chaperone and take care of our students throughout the trip. We couldn’t have done it without you!

📸 Memories were made.
🚌 Adventures were had.
🏛️ History came to life.
🇺🇸 Patriotism was on full display.

What a fantastic morning at our BMS End of Year Awards Ceremony! 🎉🐟💙

We had the opportunity to honor so many incredible students for their hard work and accomplishments this year. Awards included:

🏅 A & AB Honor Roll
📚 Perfect Attendance
❤️ Marlin Heart Awards
⬆️ Most Improved
👏 Teacher-selected awards
…and so much more!

There were gift cards, surfboards (huge thanks to Mrs. Suzanne Horine and our Port Aransas Education Foundation for their generosity in funding our “Eat Around the World” program), and special recognitions throughout the morning — including an amazing accomplishment by Skylar Dulaney as a THREE-TIME Reader of the Year! 📖🏆🏆🏆

We were also excited to officially swear in our new StuCo President, Sage Forbes! 🇺🇸👏 We know Sage will do a tremendous job leading our students next year.

Most importantly, THANK YOU to the huge number of parents and families who came out to support our students today. Your encouragement and presence mean so much to these kids and to our campus. 💙

🎉😎 What a way to celebrate an incredible year for our !! 🎢🎯🎉

Today our StuCo students enjoyed their End of the Year Party at Funtrackers, and it was well deserved!! 🏎️🎮🍕☀️ From laughs and games to great memories together, it was the perfect way to celebrate an AMAZING group of students!

Our BMS StuCo works incredibly hard all year long to make BMS a fun, positive, and exciting place to be. 💙💛 They help organize dances 💃🕺, school events 🎉, special activities 🎈, and so many moments that make middle school memorable for everyone. These students truly represent the BEST of BMS through their leadership, responsibility, creativity, and servant hearts. 👏🔥

A HUGE thank you to Mrs. Young and Mr. Green for serving as sponsors for this outstanding group! 🙌 Their investment, encouragement, leadership, and countless hours helping these students grow does not go unnoticed. They do an incredible job guiding our students and helping them become the very best versions of themselves. 💯❤️

What a GREAT day at BMS welcoming our incoming 5th graders! 🎉🐟

Students had the opportunity to travel from class to class, meet teachers, visit with BMS staff, ask questions, and get a feel for middle school life. It was awesome seeing their excitement and curiosity about next year!

We were extremely impressed with this group of students today — their manners, respectful conversations, positive attitudes, and the way they interacted with staff stood out all day long. 👏

This looks like a fantastic class, and we truly cannot wait to have them at BMS next year! 💙

What an AWESOME day for our BMS Mentoring Marlins!!! 🎉💙🐟

Today was our end-of-the-year field trip celebration, and the students had an absolute blast! We spent the day at Urban Air Adventure Park bouncing, climbing, laughing, competing, and making memories together 🤸‍♂️🎯😄

After all the fun, we headed to Golden Corral for a great lunch together 🍕🍔🍗🍦

The best part of days like this is seeing the friendships that continue to grow and blossom through our Mentoring Marlins program ❤️ So many great conversations, laughs, encouragement, and memories being made. We truly love the opportunity to grow up together and invest in these students each year. Thank you again to our HS mentors who have given up so much time and resources to invest in our BMS kids.

A HUGE thank you to the Port Aransas Education Foundation for funding today’s trip and helping provide so many amazing experiences for our students throughout the year! Your support means so much to our kids and staff! 🙌💙

Our Marlins showed up BIG today with energy, teamwork, competition, and LOTS of laughs! 🔥🐟

Every team competed hard, encouraged each other, and made memories all day long! 💙💛

Today included:
🎯 9 Square in the Air
💦 Slip N Slide Kickball
🥏 Ultimate Frisbee
🎳 Human Bowling
👕 T-Shirt Relay
🏐 Dodgeball
⚽ Soccer
🛝 Obstacle Course Blow Up

Needless to say… the kids were ALL IN today! 😂🙌

Huge THANK YOU to our amazing parents, high school volunteers, and BMS staff who spent the day out in the heat working with students, cheering them on, and having fun right alongside them. We couldn’t do days like this without you! 👏❤️

And a HUGE shoutout to the many generous people who made sure EVERY student got sno cones 🍧 after a hot afternoon and popcorn 🍿 to finish out the day strong. Your kindness helped make a great day even better!

Please help us congratulate our 2025–2026 Brundrett Middle School recipients of the Jerry McDonald Citizenship Award:

The Jerry McDonald Citizenship Award is one of the highest honors a student can receive in PAISD. It recognizes students who demonstrate integrity, leadership, kindness, and strong character — qualities that reflect the legacy of Staff Sergeant Jerry Cecil McDonald.

Skylar and Hart represent what it means to be a Marlin both inside and outside the classroom. These are two great kids and outstanding leaders who lead by example, treat others well, and make our school a better place every day.

Leadership is shown through character, respect, hard work, and the way you impact others — and these two do that consistently. 💪👏

We are proud of the way you represent BMS, your families, and our Marlin community!

Today we celebrated an AWESOME group of students at our 8th Grade Luncheon, and what a special day it was! 🙌🎉

This class has shown so much growth during their time at BMS! 📈 They’ve learned, worked hard, overcome challenges, made memories, and grown into a group that is ready for the next step. Is there still more growth ahead? Absolutely! More hard work? You bet! 💪 But this crew is READY for what’s next!

Our BMS Marlins had an AMAZING trip to see the Corpus Christi Hooks play baseball today! 🐟💙

✅ Caught foul balls
✅ Soaked up some sunshine and baseball
✅ Sat RIGHT behind home plate 😲
✅ Got autographs ✍️
✅ Watched a WALK-OFF WIN by the Hooks…

…by the score of 6️⃣-7️⃣ 😂⚾️
Yes… really. We couldn’t make that up if we tried! 🤣

The energy was incredible, the kids had an absolute blast, and the memories made today will last a long time. 💥🙌

But more importantly, our students represented BMS and our community in a FIRST-CLASS way all day long. 👏🐟
From their behavior in the ballpark to the way they helped clean up and leave the stadium the right way, these kids made us proud. 💙 That kind of respect and teamwork matters, and our Marlins showed it today!
