10am Tropical Update: We now have . This is absolutely mind boggling. The metrics the NOAA NWS National Hurricane Center used at 4am to say this was likely not even a tropical cyclone are still there. The worst of the winds are more that 100 miles away from the center. Regardless, the impacts here in SE Texas the rest of the day will be minimal. The worst of the conditions will remain offshore. Upper level winds will continue to push the brunt of the convection off to the east. We could still see some brief gusty winds, but that should be about it. Stay w/ Your Weather Authority and you'll be ahead of the storm.

To celebrate 100 years of impact, volunteers read 100 books aloud to students during this year’s Summer Reading Palooza!

While children waited for their turn to choose books, they also experienced the joy of storytelling, imagination, and connection through shared reading moments.

Our President & CEO was recently honored to serve as one of the guest speakers at the Lions Club Carnival Appreciation Dinner.

The evening was a special celebration of the volunteers, sponsors, and supporters who helped make this year’s carnival a success. She shared about the meaningful impact of Lions service in our community, as well as the valued partnerships they have had with United Way of Orange County over the years.

We are grateful for organizations like the Lions Club that show what it means to serve with heart, purpose, and a deep commitment to helping others. Thank you for inviting us to be part of this special evening!

Great news!

The Port Arthur EDC is proud to shine a spotlight on our 2026 Youth Employment Program Interns.

Meet Kalan Gardner, a 2026 graduate of Port Arthur Woodrow Wilson Early College High School. Over the next eight weeks, Kalan will be interning with the Greater Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce where he will gain firsthand experience on how the Chamber provides support and resources to our local business community.
