This week has been a wonderful opportunity to celebrate all things Coast Guard as we recognized Coast Guard Day and reflected on 235 years of service, dedication, and commitment to our Nation. Even more fitting, our unit had the privilege of celebrating two significant milestones that showcase the professionalism and excellence of our crew.

Congratulations to LT Yanez on being awarded the U.S. Coast Guard Commendation Medal in recognition of outstanding service and leadership. While we're incredibly proud of this well-deserved achievement, it also marks a bittersweet moment as LT Yanez transfers to a new assignment. Thank you for your dedication, mentorship, and the lasting impact you've made on our unit. Fair winds and following seas—we wish you continued success in your next chapter!

We also proudly congratulate MST2 McGinley on earning a well-deserved promotion from MST3 to MST2. This accomplishment reflects hard work, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence. We look forward to seeing all that you'll continue to achieve in your new role.

This week we celebrate two outstanding water warriors of our team as they begin exciting new chapters in their Coast Guard careers.

Congratulations to LCDR Cannon-McCrae on her well earned promotion from Lieutenant to Lieutenant Commander! Throughout her time with our unit, she has exemplified exceptional leadership, professionalism, and dedication to our mission. As she departs for her next assignment in Washington, D.C., we thank her for her service and wish her continued success.

We also congratulate MST2 Staley on his ceremonial advancement as well as his first good conduct medal! This achievement reflects his hard work, commitment, and outstanding performance. As he transfers to his new unit today, we are grateful for the positive impact he has made on our team and know he will continue to excel in his next assignment.

While both will be greatly missed, we are proud to have been part of their journeys and look forward to seeing all they accomplish in the future.

As we close out the month of July, we take a moment to recognize the outstanding service and dedication of several members of our team.

This month, we bid farewell to three exceptional officers whose leadership and commitment have left a lasting impact on our unit. Fair winds and following seas to LT Peters, LTJG Lewis (Response), and LTJG Lin. Thank you for your service, professionalism, and the positive influence you've had on those around you. We wish you continued success in your next assignments.

We also proudly congratulate TACS Feeser on receiving an Impact Award for his unwavering dedication to recruiting and mentoring the next generation of Coast Guardsmen. His commitment to connecting with young men and women in our communities and providing them with opportunities to serve has made a meaningful difference and continues to strengthen the future of our Coast Guard.

Finally, congratulations to MST3 Siegal, MST3 White, and ME1 Allison on earning the Coast Guard Good Conduct Medal. This recognition reflects their professionalism, integrity, and exemplary service, and we are proud to celebrate this well-deserved achievement.

Congratulations to the Coast Guard’s newest Chief Warrant Officers:
• CWO2 Cowie
• CWO2 Perez
• CWO2 Beaulieu
Selection to Chief Warrant Officer is a tremendous accomplishment and recognizes exceptional technical expertise, leadership, and dedication to the service. These members now join the officer corps after years of distinguished enlisted service and will continue serving as trusted technical leaders across the fleet.

The transition from Chief Petty Officer to Chief Warrant Officer is marked by longstanding military traditions. During the ceremony, fellow Chiefs remove the anchors symbolizing their time in the Chiefs Mess, while loved ones pin on their new officer rank and exchange enlisted combination covers for officer covers. Another proud and meaningful moment is the officer’s first salute — traditionally rendered by an enlisted member in recognition of the individual’s transition into the commissioned officer corps and the responsibility that comes with it.

These traditions symbolize both the closing of one chapter of leadership and the beginning of another as commissioned officers in the United States Coast Guard.
