We did it! ✨

At the request of our retiree, Maybelline Washington, we hosted a 70s & 80s Retirement Bash, and it was a wonderful afternoon of fellowship, laughter, and memories.

The food was delicious, the music brought back great memories, and the company was even better. Most importantly, we had the opportunity to celebrate and honor Maybelline for 25 years of dedicated service to the students, families, and staff of Sam Houston Elementary.

Congratulations, Maybelline! Thank you for the love, care, and support you have given to generations of children. We wish you all the happiness and blessings retirement has to offer

We will miss our 5th grade students! As we prepare to say goodbye to our amazing 5th graders, our hearts are full of pride and a little sadness too. We have watched these students grow, learn, laugh, overcome challenges, and become leaders over the years. They will always hold a special place in the Sam Houston family.

Once a Sam Houston student, always a Sam Houston student. We will miss you dearly and cannot wait to see all the incredible things your future holds! 🎓💙

Tomorrow we honor Mrs. Maybelline Washington for 25 years of faithful service, compassion, and unwavering dedication to children. For decades, she was more than an educator and advocate: she was a safe place, a listening ear, and a source of unconditional love for so many students.

The impact of her heart cannot be measured because even today, former students still call Ms. Washington when they are in a bind, needing guidance, encouragement, or simply someone who cares. That speaks volumes about the trust and love she poured into generations of children.

Her legacy is not only in the years she served, but in the lives she touched. Sam Houston is better because of her presence, and countless students are stronger because she believed in them. Congratulations on your retirement, Ms. Washington. Your love and advocacy will continue to echo for years to come.
