Eighteen years ago, on September 13, 2008, Hurricane Ike devastated our coast. Yet, through every challenge, our community rebuilt—and the historic 1872 Bolivar Point Lighthouse stood strong as a beacon of hope for us all.

On Sunday, September 13, 2026, join us on the lighthouse grounds as we honor the unbreakable resilience of the Bolivar Peninsula, celebrate how far we’ve come together, and look ahead to a bright future!

📍 Location: Bolivar Point Lighthouse Grounds (419 Everett Lane, Port Bolivar, TX)

The Bolivar Point Lighthouse Foundation, led by Executive Director Amy Maxwell Chase and President Mike Maxwell, has spent the past 10 years restoring the historic landmark after more than a century of hurricanes, coastal winds, humidity and even an accidental military shelling left the beacon a shadow of its former self.
