Our Mission: To provide research-based knowledge and educational programs from the University of Florida IFAS that enable people to make practical decisions to improve their quality of life. We are excited to have our presenter Ana Zangroniz, who serves as the Florida Sea Grant Extension Agent in Miami-Dade County and is involved with multiple projects that help support our coral reefs and coastal communities.

The 2026 survey season for Charlotte County’s Eyes on Seagrass program recently came to a close!
With the help of our incredible volunteers, we were able to collect valuable data throughout Charlotte Harbor, as well as at locations in Matlacha Pass and Lemon Bay.
In Charlotte Harbor alone, data was collected from 34 dedicated monitoring sites throughout the spring and summer. This information is incredibly helpful in giving us a clearer picture of the health and status of seagrass meadows throughout the harbor.
A huge thank-you to all of our amazing volunteers for your time, dedication, and enthusiasm! We appreciate each and every one of you. 💚
