Town of Rye, NY Town of Rye and its communities - the Villages of Port Chester, Rye Brook and Rye Neck Rye is a town in Westchester County, New York, United States.

The population was 43,880 at the 2000 census. It is a separate municipality from the city of Rye. The town of Rye (often referred to as "Rye Town") contains two villages – Port Chester and Rye Brook – along with a portion of the Rye Neck section of the Village of Mamaroneck (the remainder of the Village of Mamaroneck is in the town of Mamaroneck). These villages comprise the entire area of the town of Rye.

Junteenth 2026: Community, Honor, and Observance

THE SERVICE PROJECT:
The Town will organize a restoration and preservation project at the African American Cemetery, which will involve carefully painting markers on previously unmarked graves. unity reflection on local history and the significance of Juneteenth.

The Town of Rye, which is home to one of the area’s most important Black History sites, The Rye African-American Cemetery, once again honors the memory of our forebears with its fourth annual event of service and spoken word at the cemetery, on Saturday, June 28, 2026, beginning at 10 am.‍

This effort is intended to respectfully honor and preserve the memory of individuals whose burial sites are not currently clearly identified, while also encouraging broader community reflection on local history and the significance of Juneteenth.
