On behalf of BDC, we were grateful for the opportunity for Governor Wes Moore to visit the Bainbridge property. It is important for our government officials to see the good work in economic development that is happening in Cecil County so that they realize the opportunities that are all around the state. The Bainbridge property will bring tax revenue to the Town of Port Deposit as well as good paying jobs for our residents. We look forward to smart and equitable growth in Port Deposit and are thankful for the ability to show the governor what we, along side of our development team and county are working to collaboratively achieve for our community.

A Fresh Look for a Timeless Town – Introducing the Port Deposit Chamber of Commerce New Logo & Website!

Port Deposit has always been a town shaped by its history—anchored in maritime heritage, built on a foundation of strong granite, and flowing with the energy of the Susquehanna. Today, we’re proud to unveil a new logo and website that beautifully capture the essence of our past while guiding us into the future.

Crafted with care by Jaymi Cook (Leadout Communications, LLC), James Moore (Nature House Art), and Michael Noonan (Spot Creations), this rebrand was made possible through the generous support of the Lower Susquehanna Heritage Greenway Mini Grant to support the Heritage Tourism Initiative.

🔹 Our Logo: A Story in Every Detail
At first glance, you’ll notice the anchor and rope, paying tribute to our deep maritime history and connection to the river. Look closer, and you’ll see the influence of granite, the very stone that built this town—strong, enduring, and deeply rooted. These elements come together to reflect the spirit of Port Deposit: a place shaped by water, stone, and the people who have called it home.

🌍 A New Website to Explore & Experience
More than just a digital presence, our new website is a gateway to all that Port Deposit has to offer. Whether you're a resident looking to stay connected or a visitor eager to explore, our Heritage Tourism Map is here to guide you—helping you uncover the stories, landmarks, and natural beauty that make our town so special.

We invite you to explore our new site and immerse yourself in the history and charm of Port Deposit. www.portdepositcc.org

Earlier this week, the BDC team participated in the 2025 IEDC Leadership Summit in Washington DC, convening economic development professionals from nearly every US state. Over three days, we explored a diverse array of topics, including Board Governance, Workforce Sustainability, Marketplace Dynamics, Housing as an Economic Development Strategy, Public Private Partnerships, and Federal Legislative Impacts. The insights gained can greatly benefit our county partners in Economic Development, Government, Education, and Private Industry.
It was a wonderful experience.
