We are pleased to announce the arrival of our department's newest member, Rescue 1. This 2026 Dodge Durango was acquired through generous grants and private donations, as well as contributions from our own Port Edwards Firefighters Athletic Association. Purchased and outfitted locally, Rescue 1 was fully funded without placing any burden on local taxpayers. We extend our gratitude to all who contributed to this acquisition. County Hwy GG, between State Hwy 54 and State Hwy 173 is closed due to high water. It will remain as such until the water recedes. Do NOT attempt to circumvent the barricades. By unnecessarily entering this treacherous stretch of road you could put yourself and the responders that would need to assist you in harm's way if problems arise.

We want to thank and congratulate our very own Captain Jeff Abley for taking this class and passing! Your dedication to our village is truly unmatched.

27 Fire Instructors recently finished their Live Fire Instructor course at Mid-State. Today was their practical exam to complete their certification requirements. A big THANK YOU to the Stevens Point Fire Department for sending over a half dozen instructors to help facilitate the exam, as 21 of the students are Mid-State instructors who themselves became students to complete this important certification. The class consisted of fire instructors from Adams County Fire District, Big Flats FD, Dewey FD, Grand Rapids FD, Hull FD, Marshfield FD, Mosinee Fire District, Nekoosa FD, Pittsville FD, Plover FD, Port Edwards FD, Riverside Fire District, Spencer FD, Vesper FD, Wild Rose FD, and Wisconsin Rapids FD.

Thank you to all participants for your dedication to the industry and to the communities that you serve. We recognize that your selflessness is what makes this all possible.

❄️ Quick Community Check-in ❄️

Excellent repost of a common photo circulating reminding us of the little things we can do to keep our homes safe as we weather the storm. Snow blocking these vents could lead to appliances not working properly or carbon monoxide poisoning.

Clear the areas around these important vents and make sure your CO detectors are working. Help your neighbors if you can and we will get through this together.
