ONE ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH CO***NE SALES

(Port Huron) On September 1, 2026 at 3:30pm, the St. Clair County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on the 3400 block of Military St in the City of Port Huron. The search resulted in a dealers quantity of co***ne and packaging materials. 46 year old Todd Crews was taken into custody. He appeared before the 72nd District Court on September 3, 2026 for arraignment. Charges are as follows; bond was set at $25,000 cash/surety.
- FELONY – Possession with Intent to Deliver Co***ne

DRUG TASK FORCE UPDATE

(Clyde Township) On August 31, 2026 at 7:00 pm, members of the Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on the 3100 block of Wadhams Rd. Over 20 grams of Methamphetamine along with sales materials were located. As a result, 42 year old Joel Hahn was taken into custody. He was arraigned in 72nd District Court yesterday on the following charges. Bond was set at $10,000 cash/surety.
- FELONY – Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine
- FELONY – Maintaining a Drug House

We have been getting calls regarding a scam currently going around. Community members have received calls from a "Sgt. Bailey" with the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office regarding missed jury duty. This is a scam. Please do not provide the caller with any personal information, follow their instructions, or pay them money (including cryptocurrency).

FLOAT DOWN 2026 UPDATE

On Sunday, August 16, nearly 1,500 people departed Lakeside Beach for the annual St. Clair River Float Down. St. Clair County Sheriff Marine Division, along with other local, state, and federal agencies assisted approximately 300 participants. While some assistance was navigational, approximately 20 people were rescued and brought back to shore via boat. While Float Down is a long-standing tradition in St. Clair County, it is not an officially sanctioned event. Safety MUST remain a priority for those that plan to attend.

Responders noted some of the key safety issues were:
-Cheap or low-quality floats. The St. Clair River is a fast-flowing shipping channel. This requires a quality made float or raft.
-Participants not wearing life jackets. Floats are not life saving devices and if you become separated from your float, you are in deep, rough, cold water. Wear a life jacket.
-Not bringing a paddle to assist in steering. Wind and weather play a MAJOR factor in this event. If you are unable to manipulate your direction of travel, you may find yourself in Canada or colliding with buoys/barges/etc.
