CONSTRUCTION WORKER STRUCK BY VEHICLE

(China Twp) Local, state, and federal agencies have launched initiatives to promote driver awareness and worker safety in construction zones. And with good reason. Often drivers are distracted, putting workers at risk. Yesterday in China Twp. a 33 year old male was struck on King Rd while working. He was transported to McLaren Macomb with nonlife threatening injuries. The scene was turned over the St. Clair County Sheriff Accident Investigations team. Drugs and/or alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the crash.

“It is the season of road repairs and construction in Michigan. Drivers, please take steps to avoid distractions while behind the wheel,” says Sheriff Mat King.
